A question for Pack

Hi Pack,
I've not logged onto this board for a long time so I'm not upto date with whats gone on. I seem to remember that you said you were writing to some Brazilian girls and intended to visit Brazil to look for a wife. I'd be grateful if you could let me know how you got on, and how you would compare them to the Colombian girls that you have come into contact with.

hi sim, well back in March/April when i decided it was time to begin the search again for the ONE i couldnt decide if i wanted to return to cali again or try somewhere new like brazil. i finally chose to return to cali simply because i at least somewhat knew the area , the people , and speak a little spanish. i decided against brazil for the same reasons,few contacts,no portuguese,longer trip,etc.

i like the colombian women but to be honest with you each trip i have lost more interest in them....maybe its just me i come into contact with alot of players and green card sharks. plus the agency scene is really unstable down there.

so even though i  did choose cali over brazil i am once again  concidering brazil as my next trip. i have been in contact with about 9 girls in brazil they all seem to be sincere and very interested in american men.

i have just had to many negative experiences in cali and am now thinking maybe i just need a change of scenery. i really cant compare for you the colombian women as compared to the brazillian women . i have asked several of the guys on this board who have traveled to both countries to do a comparison but none have done so as of yet.

I intend to visit Cali within the next few months, however rather than use an agency which I feel is a bit like a cattle market, I intend to just travel about and just meet people. It will obviously take longer but I hope to avoid those girls who are ''career agency girls''.

Where did you find the brasilian girls on the web? There are some on kiss.com, that site is relatively cheap to join and is above board. If you travel to Brasil, it is better to avoid Rio as they are many tourists there. The third largest city in Brasil, Belo Horizonte is a good bet, apparently there are many more women than men there. One of my previous girlfriends was studying at the university there. The main downtown area is called Savassi. You can reach BH by bus from either SP or Rio (about 6 hrs travel).

i would say thts a good idea just check out the city and the ladies on your own ...if your spanish is good and you have the personality and motivation to approch the ladies on your own...go for it! you are correct about the agencies, their are some girls who are good ,honest,sincere ladies who just want to meet a good man. however there are alot of what can be called agency girls, you can find a good woman in a agency but you have to be careful and aware that there are players.

sounds like you know your way around brazil. tell me..us a little about it. how are the ladies? good marriage prospects ,yes or no...and why? i met the brazillian girls im in contact with through Latin Euro agency. never used Kiss before...you say its good?

i do have a brazillian friend here in my town that wants us to go together to brazil..he says he'll translate for me...maybe i'll take him up on it...dont know havent decided yet?

Brasil is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to marriage prospects. The upper/middle class types tend to be wary of foriegners and making relationships with one is problematic. I actually spent time at a Brasilian university, although I had friends there, I never felt that I was fully accepted by them. There is some social stigma attached to a girl who dates a foreigner. In some respects I feel that this is partly due to the political situation there, the US etc is blamed for all of Brasil's woes. While it is not impossible to find a wife there, I feel it would be more difficult than other countries. Your best bet is to just go for an exploratory trip and take things from there. When looking ofr a GF there, its best to avoid touristy area's as the girl will think you are a tourist looking for a one night stand. This situation is particularly worse in Rio or some of the coastal cities in the north east. Sao Paulo would be a better bet as most foriegners are there for business and not pleasure.
