YAAHOOO!!! I just got the call from Marife that her Visa has arrived (12:05 AM EST). :oDDDD
When things start happening...they go real fast! She is off to CFO in a few days, then will visit her grandfather in Bohol. She should be here as soon as I can book the flight, hopefully in a week or two.

THANK YOU to everyone who gave me advice, encouragement, an education, made me laugh, made me angry, made me think, beeitch slapped me when I got out of control, kicked me in the butt to get moving, and just plain kept me busy for past 15 months on PL and in particular the last 10 months of our separation. I am still in shock!!!

... in response to Congratulation Dave and Marife............., posted by Jimbo on Sep 11, 2001

Hi Sally,

Thanks! I was thinking that Marife would be here in a week or two. I don't know now, with the current attack on America. There are talks of border closings and who knows how badly the flight schedules will be effected.

My joy of yesterday, has been overwhelmed with grief for the innocents. I just heard that on top of all of the other lives lost in the attack, 200+ fire fighters are missing. I'm sure that some will be found alive. The trouble is that we have to attack high rise fires from the inside. God only knows how many were inside when the buildings collapsed. As I watched the World Trade Center burn, I knew that most of the people above the fire floors were doomed, unless they managed to escape down an intack stairwell. It is hard watching people jump from buildings. That's why I don't like tall buildings. 8 or 9 stories is about all that the average arial apparatus (ladder or platform truck) will reach, with excellent placement.

Thanks again! I'm still in a little shock. The day that I heard about and trained for, has finally come...and it is still not over yet. Fortunately, all flights have been grounded, probably saving thousands of additional lives.

Dave, Me too, I was shocked what I have seen on TV and I couldn't believed it.  It was horrible and terrible incident I ever saw. I have pity all those families who have had relatives working in WTC as well in Pentagon. I know and understand how they felt losing love ones.

I'm still lucky because I came back early.  I supposed to fly back here September 9 from Manila to San Francisco at 10:15pm Philippine time, but I had changed it to Sept.2 in Manila and pay the penalty of $50.00.

Tell Marife to wait a little while till the situation is okay and safe.  I'm still scared and a bit shocked when I learned the two hijacked planes who hit WTC are from Boston airport.  Take it easy Dave!

Dave,

You think the last fifteen months has been tough?  Try and get through the next few weeks with your sanity in tact!  LOL!  Maybe you're better prepared than I was, or more well grounded--although we seem very simlilar :c)--but MAN, the days between the Visa getting to Ayesa and her arrival were like someone turned the DVD player to fast forward x48!  LOL!

I'm very happy for you both!  I can't wait for you to visit A2 so I can get a good look at the infamous Purple G-String :c)  At least, see pictures of it!  LOL!

If you need anything, I am here... you know how to get ahold of me :c)

Congrats!

Hi H,

Thank you very much!!! I will bring my purple G-string if Hum doesn't eat it first...which is what I'm praying for. Of course, things working out between you and Ayesa with or without counseling, is more important than Hum choking on my loin cloth. I'm going to try to make A2 this year.

Dave,

I think the importance of Hum gagging on your G-String and Ayesa and I working things out are on equal plateaus(sp?) of necessity :c)  I know... I know... bad joke... errr..... choke... errrr..... you get my meaning :c) LOL!

Hi Lori,

Thanks!!! I got so caught up in the Visa game, that I almost forgot there was more to life. It feels like a great weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I didn't realize how much pressure I was under. I tried to roll with the punches and take it as it came, but sometimes it got the best of me. It's just a matter of a little more time before Thai is here. Now I'm going to take my seat in the bleachers with the rest of the reunited couples and cheer you two on. Good Luck!!!
