I was wondering how long a K1 visa takes from the time you
submit the paperwork to the time she can come to the U.S.?

It has now been 6 months since I have sent my K-1 application to the California service center. I am still at least 3 weeks away from receiving a responce.

Depends on many variables. 1st, Where do you live? Are there any special circumstances? Where does she live? Any more. Mine was processed in the Texas service center and that took about 4 months (April 15, August 15th), then 10 days at the NVC, and about a month before she had her interview at the Embassy in Caracas. So, a total of about 5 months or so. Most seem to take about 5-8 months. A big reason for success is in the preparation of the petition paperwork...completeness, accuracy, supporting documents, and neatness/organization. As far as the embassy is concerned, your at their mercy...you have to keep on top of them.

More details and I can help more.

Tim.
