Tai,
I've been thinking along the same lines.  I think this was posted awhile back on 2Gringos but I'm not positive. I mean, why can't H20 just get it over with and put us out of our misery.

How much you wanna bet there was alcohol present during alot of this?  I hope so cuz that way we can blame it on the booze, if not....uhhhhh.

Later,
Mike

Yea that's what this story needs...more external things to "blame".  If the 'booze' angle doesn't work, More 'excuses', like..I was just a rich lonely white child, jet lag, language barrier, or, my dog ran away, my pickem-up truck broke down, maybe we can just write a Country Western Song that will excuse all the 'real issues' away.

Once one gets past the saddness, the anger, the frustration, the dismay, the only thing left to mend the ailing spirit is a little laughter.

H20 Once again I am impressed by your honesty (not to mention your story telling skills) but I have to comment on your situation. It seems to me that someone who puts themselves in the situations you were in draws that to themself. I mean you married a woman on the advice of some guy when you barely knew her. Have you had similar situations with American women? Do you truly beleive that 70 % are players or is it 100% that YOU meet. If it is truly 70% I will be very dissapointed when i make my trip. But i definely will not enter into any type of relationship with red flags. I truly belevie that you knew if even on a subconcious level that these situations were not right for you.In any case I appreciate you raising my level of awareness about some of the women there and what to look for. If i did meet someone Id like to marry there i was thinking of getting married in Colombia. So you say that is not the best way to go huh? If the person wont grant you a divorce are you basicallty just stuck or what? Later buddy keep up the great story.

I'm guessing but I'd guess there are several thousand women in the agencies of Cali.  I believe that most of them are regular normal women, with problems surely as we all have them, however not players or socio-paths either.  I believe that of the several thousand, only about 30% get much interest from the gringos.  I saw it at Latin Love, day in and day out, the same women had appointments over and over again.  However the remaining 70% received very little interest.  Some of the women who received no interest are quite attractive but perhaps they were a little older or a step or two below "babe" level.  Among the group that receives a lot of attention, I think that the percentage of players is extremely high.  If you look at the whole group of agency women however the percentage is much more modest.

I have some opinions as to the increasing numbers of players in Cali.  For the women players, it's easy access to dollars, plain and simple.   For the gringo players, Cali is fantasy island with a steady stream of 20 year old honey's and easy sex.

If you talk to ordinary people in Cali who aren't otherwise associated with the MOB industry,  many of them are suspicious of matrimony agencies in general and their male and female members in particular.  When I lived in Cali, at least one of the TV stations kept playing this documentary of a MOB relationship gone bad.  It was a terrible story and hopefully unrepresentative of the vast majority of relationships but nevertheless it has helped to create or further a stigma. The stigma is real and to some extent justified. A Calena friend of mine who I know to be a woman of character, quit the agency scene a month or so back.  She said, I don't want to belong to any agencies anymore.  She was aware of recent model agency/tours and felt like they gave the appearance of something funny.   Even the appearance was sufficient for her to say "no more".

I think the problem in Cali is that we have at least two or more groups of people with very different agendas.  On one hand, we have the Club Med crowd, guys and gals who are having a good time with life and not particularly serious about marriage.  On the other hand, we have people who are very serious about marriage and in the near term.  These two groups don't mix very well as you might imagine but in Cali there are very strong ties between them, starting at the agency and working down through the members.  I don't particularly care what people do or don't do in their own private lives however I think a clearer line needs to be drawn between the groups.

You're absolutely right that 30% of the women (the babes) get most of the attention and since they go out frequently they have a tendancy to be balse about the attention and just enjoy the freebees.

The 70% who are below the babe level, maybe have a few mone years or children, there are some extraordinary women and most are NOT PLAYERS.  If we use the same standards we did when we were 16 (looks and size of breasts) the we will meet at lot of 16 year old girls (mentally) who are attracted to you by the car we drive.

I think you've got it correct.  Too bad we can't separate the two groups.  I know it sounds like a sales pitch for my recommended method of contact, but I really think the insertion of several weeks or months or correspondance/phone calls separates the groups pretty well.  Not too many players are willing to write someone for 5 months before meeting, but the cautious serious types will.

Good point Patrick...

There's something to be said for NOT getting on the first plane but rather writing a woman or group of women.  I think writing is especially good for discovering what a person believes in and a woman's level of education.  You can learn a lot about her without getting too caught up in her appearance.

Patrick, that is the biggest advantage of writing, players and sharks don't have the patience for it, for the most part, especially when there are suckers landing at the airport every day.....

I suspect this guy is going after the beautiful babe types (maybe I'm wrong).  I know if you take all the agency women as a whole there's going to be far far less than 70% players.  Limit it to ladies under 25 who are extremely attractive, throw in some men 15-35 years older than them and the "player" rate is going to go way up.

You can't buy love, not even in MOB.

Thats probaly very true Patrick. When someone is always going for the most gorgeous girl who is 10-15 yrs younger. but let me ask your opinion on this- I myself am 29 yrs old and looking for someone between 21-26. Do u think thewomen under 25 in general are more lkely to be "players" or do u think its because the age difference in alot of these cases is so great between the man and the woman? I certaintly like younger women but these stories are making me wary.
