I am sure you have covered this before but I guess I will have to ask again....can you give me any insight on the interview in Poland. They are doing the FBI check now so we should be getting an interview date soon.
Can you tell me what she will need for Poland along with what I can do to prepare her for the inteview. She is very nervous about this. Are there any specific questions or areas of questions I should prepare her for?
                     Thanks

Our Name Check took 18 business days recently.  It seems they have been backed up a bit with December being one of their busiest months in trying to reunite families for the holidays, at least that's what the Embassy told me.  Hopefully your interview will be in January and not February. ;-)

Others have already mentioned what you might need and this should have been covered in the packets sent to your girl.

Regarding the interview and questions asked-  I would recommend you take a look at the Doc Steen pages as he lists most of the commonly asked questions and what the answers should be for many of them.  I think the link is-

http://k1.exit.com/

Hope this helps.

Our Warsaw "interview" amounted to introductions and "your visa will be ready at 4PM" Wink

I was not there, and it was very perfunctory. A non-event, really, according to my wife. As long as your fiancee has all the prescribed paperwork, it will be a formality. (Unless things have changed in the last couple years, and I don't think that's the case.)

Basically what they are going to check is that she is who she says that she is and that your relationship is valid. They will check her police report and medical paperwork. They will ask questions like how you met and how your relationship developed. It would be good for her to have records of correspondence like phone bills and e-mails. Also, they may ask for any photos of you together other than those you submitted with your paperwork.

It would not hurt for her to have copies of ALL divorce(s) that you have been through and your Affidavit of Support with the required documentation even if you have already submitted them (just in case).

The INS has checked your background and approved that you are qualified to bring her here as your fiancee. Now she must have her's checked by the State Dept. to see that she is qualified to receive a visa and not an undesirable risk.

Try to put her at ease, if everything is on the up and up, there should be no problems. My wife said that the most difficult part is getting there and not the interview.

Good luck. If your fiancee would like to talk with my wife about this I'm sure that she would be glad to do it.

In addition to the data you have already submitted, she will need to complete the medical examination and obtain a police report as well as the various application documents that are covered at the U.S. Embassy website in Warsaw.  If she speaks English with any ability, the questions are pretty easy.  There used to be a website that set forth in detail everything you did at the interview, from what door to enter, etc., but I noticed a few posts below that this site could not be found anymore.  If you would like, e-mail me and I will send you what my wife used a couple of years ago that was based on the data from that site.   I used that to prepare my wife for the interview and she had no difficulties.
