Hello everyone

   I have a very nice relation with a girl from St. Petersburg and after a couple of months of chating on the internet we meet each other in Paris and it was a lot of fun so now I am trying to know a little bit more about Russian ladys I hope you guys don´t mind about me hanging around here.

Hi C --  Welcome and thanks for joining in.  Can you tell us about your trip?  For instance, what kind of visa for your lady?  Travel and hotel recommendations?  And if you don't mind, did you meet your lady through an agency or solo search, etc, etc.  Thanks for chipping in with info.  We all learn from each other.

Hi Burt, yes ofcourse I can tell you some stuff about my trip.   First of all I want you guys to know that I am not an american or canadian I was born in Mexico even though I have spend most of my life in the U.S.A. so for me things are a little different regarding visas and all that stuff.

I was introduce to this lady by a friend of mine that works at the Russian Embassy back in Mexico city she gave me this ladys email and phone number and since then we have been communicating with each other.   After 5 months of talking on the phone and exchanging photos and all that stuff I invited her to Paris I did this because I don´t like the idea of visiting St Petersburg during winter its very cold.

So she accepted my invitation and she started making arrangements for her Passport and Visa.    She asked for my finacial help because its dificult for her to pay for this papers so I help her.    She got a tourist Visa, she travel to Paris with a tourist group she told me it would be almost imposible for her to get a "single" visa.   It was only one day before our traveling day that they open her Visa so evrything was okay.    So I pick her up at the airport and then we went to the hotel, we stay at the Hilton really close to Eiffel tower in trocadero.   When I pick her up I was very surprised that she only had one little bag for a 9 day trip, I had 2 big ones.    From the first moment she was very friendly and everything was very nice not only that day but during the entire trip.    The second thing that surprised me a little was how badly she wanted to visit every famous place in Paris its like if she knew that she will never be back so because of this the trip was very "cultural".   To tell you guys the truth what I wanted about the trip was to get to know her more and spend a lot of time together I didn´t care about this cultural thing I have been to Paris before and hopefully I will be back soon but she was really desperate about it.

So we visited a lot of the basic parts of Paris like Montmarte, Versailles Castle, Eiffel Tower, Mouling Rouge, Louvre etc.    Something I want to ask you guys about is what I was saying about her little bag, she spend most of the trip with the same cloth is this normal for Russian Ladys ?   she only had like 2 pants and 2 shirts so that was a little surprised for me to see her everyday with the same cloth.   I understand there are a lot of cultural differences and I am very open minded about it but to tell you guys the truth this made me a little uncomfortable.   Another thing that got my attention was the fact of how much she eats, I mean everytime we where at a restaurant she eat very much a lot more than American girls but her body is very beautiful so maybe she was just having fun.  I was also a little surprised of how everytime I was smilling to her she asked me why I was laughting.    We also spend a lot of time at Champs Elises buying a lot of things she was also desperate about buying stuff for her and for her friends, she also bought some things for me.

So in general it was a very nice experience for me and like I said it was something very different from what I have experienced with "american" ladys.    We really had a lot of fun together and know she wants to visit me or I will visit her in June when the weather is better so for now we are just waiting for our next meeting but I think we are both very interest in each other so lets see what happens and because of this is that I will like to learn a little more about Russian Culture and Russian Ladys in general.

Welcome to the board and the unusal habits of RW!  LOL.  
On the clothes- When my wife came to America she brought only two duffle type bags.  They were larger than normal but either one could have been used as a carry on.  I sent her money before hand to purchase luggage, thinking that she would buy at least two HUGE pieces for her belongings.  The truth of the matter is that RW do not have a lot of clothing.  They have a few basic outfits and they mix and match as best as they can.  Your Russian girlfriend probably hand washed her clothes every night back at the hotel.
On eating- God knows where they put all the food they eat!  LOL.  My wife has a very healthy appitite, with the key word being "healthy".  She chows on vegetables, fish and chicken staying away from potatoes, beef and pasta.  Her one weakness is sweets.  She also monitors her weight and figure closely and makes adjustments through exercise as needed.
On Paris- Russia has a history of very close ties with France.  It does not surprise me at all that your girlfriend put such importance on visiting historical heights.  A trip to Paris is just too important to her not to max out.

Well about the Visa she told me that it cost her 250 dollars and she had to wait like 35 days to get it remember it was just a tourist Visa for one month.

What she was very clear about was that the guys at the Frech Embassy are nice people and that she will never get a Visa for countries like Italy, England, Canada and the U.S.A.  a tourist Visa that is.

Now she wants to visit me and she thinks that she will need a official invitation from a female citizen, remember I am totally new to all this information I really don´t know much about it but I guess I will learn a little because like I said before we are really interest in each other.

What I can see with all this is that Russian Ladys are not very popular with inmigration matters in a lot of countries she told me this is because a lot of ladys want to leave Russia at any cost and governments are very aware of this so they pay special attention to Visas related with Russian ladys.  Is this really true ?

It's almost impossible for a Russian girl to get a tourist visa to the USA.  They can get a tourist visa if they have a business, high paying job or substantial assets in Russia.  Most men have to us a K-1 (fiancee) or K-3 (marriage) visa to bring a woman over.  You can click on the information at the left of this web site to learn more about visas.    

The number of women trying to leave Russia and Ukraine is huge.  I do not know accurately what the numbers are but I would venture to guess more than 1 million.  I would just guess that over 100,000 women are trying to meet and marry a western man.

You might want to tell this new guy that if he wants to see a persons profile he only needs to click on the persons Blue name at the top of the post to see his/her personal info. Also if he/she needs to edit their profile this can be done by going to the top of this forum page and click where it says edit profile. Hey not everyone knows this on their first visit. (smile)
