Depends on where and which battle.  Try the link below:

I see you are battling for the honor of defeating Nazi Germany - as a German born 20 years after the end of WWII I wish to thank ALL that helped to defeat the Nazis and liberate Europe. These are the American troops, the Canadian troops (and many others) and don't forget the Russian troops who incidentally suffered the most casualties!

Shows what Americans know about the rest of the world.  First of all, we entered the war long before you guys did.  YOu only entered after Pearl Harbor was bombed.  We entered just days after Britain declared war (we didn't have to enter war when Britain did...we were our own country by then)  Go to Holland and see.  Older people there love to see the maple leaf.

Asiangirl

My mother then 16 -17 and her sister 19  Were not allowed by my grandparents to fraternize with the Canadian Soldiers who liberated Holland even though they wanted to.  Maybe this was a good thing though  ha ha ha.

Yes there is a strong connection between the Dutch and Canadians. There is a large concentration of Dutch in Ontario.  Why do you think I would usually stop off at the dutch stores in Saint Catherines or Burlington during my excursions into Canada to stock up on dutch specialty items.   Many Dutch immigrated to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and my parents wound up in America.  My uncle has been a Canadian citizen since the 50's.  But he and my aunt just became American citizens after living here for most of the last 20 years.

Please correct me if I am wrong here.  But Canada has always had a stong loyalty to Britain.  Even though you may be an independent country as is Australia and New Zealand,  you are still part of the British commonwealth.  Queen Elizabeth  II  still appears on your pennies and dollars.  so it is no wonder that Canada Joined in WW II before the States.

I hold no ill feelings towards Canadians except maybe your driving  ha ha ha  but then again I lived in Boston before and they are maniacs also.

Curt,

I am always amazed at how ungrateful other countries are after the US has saved their Arses. It reminds me of the French after WWII. Come to think of it, there are a lot of French in Canada. They will take our support and money, then talk bad about us. Sounds like jealousy.

The Japanese need more room for exapansion. They have failed to conquer China for hundreds of years. I notice that they are buying up large chunks of Canada. Say you don't suppose....

Ha,ha,ha... I don't think there are too many French in Quebec from France, just as all the Spanish-speaking Americans did not just arrive from Spain.Smiley Next time you go to Vancouver, you will realize that the Japanese already own BC. These people have so much money that when I worked in the Northwest Territories last year, they would fly all the way from Japan just to have sex under the northern lights. They thought this would bring good luck for a new baby. It sure made the tour guides laugh.Smiley No country in the world could ever take over Canada. Its just too big and unpopulated and the invaders would just get bored soon enough, go to the beer store for a case then sit down to watch the game. Besides, what could we do now that the government took all our guns away; use our hockey sticks and shoot pucks at them?Smiley

Mike,

ROFL! Do you think I can get a job as a tour guide in Northwest territories? Shocked) I better brush up on my Japanese.

Big, unpopulated, and boring? Sounds good to me! Open the door I'm coming! Do you  want me to bring an extra gun for you? Shocked))

Would you believe that hockey is big in South Florida? Both ice and roller hockey. There are roller hockey arenas popping up all over the place, as well as a few ice arenas.
The Latins love it. I never thought I would play hockey again after I moved from Michigan. But, I played on a Fire Fighter Olympic team and coached a couple of youth roller teams for a few years.

much Korea was devastated during the Japenese occupation of that country till I recently worked for two years in Korea.  Nor did I realize that a lot of the "fine arts" of Japan were due to Korean artisans that they captured and brought back to Japan.

I hardly think Japan would have been interested in Canada. After all, think of all the money they would have had to spend introducing Japannese as our third official language. And once they saw the Arctic, they would have said, "forget it - who wants this place anyways?"Smiley

No. I'm not looking for a fight. Just thinking that sometimes you have to ask yourself a few questions about your own country: Like, why do Amercian backpackers abroad sew Canadian flags onto their backpacks? And why do terrorists single out Americans in the Middle East, and ignore Canadians? Its not considered "trying to stir up a fight" when someone posts a viewpoint counter to an American viewpoint.
