If it's like JFK or Newark, you won't get through check-in and security in less than 90 minutes, no matter where you're going.

Dalton,

This is what I am telling all clients who are flying-

For Domestic flights it is best to check-in 2 hours prior to departure.

For International flights it is best to check-in 3 hours prior to departure.

Normally for internationals flights it is 2 hours, but since 911 it is best to add an additional hour.  A way to justify this would be that if you are first in line, you can try and get a bulkhead, or exit row seat.  These seats will give me leg room, which is desirable on those long international flights.  What do you got to loose?  Better to be at the airport early and sitting, than late, or check-in with a middle seat stuck between two people.  I arrive early whenever I can.

Still lurking,
BrianC

My husband flies out of Sea-Tac reularly, plus had different friens fly to Vegas and other places for vacation just recently - seems there is no big problem. Depends what day you are flying - if it's day and time that not many travelers would be there - early morning, very late at night, saturday morning, etc - you should be OK. But still would not hurt to arrive ahead of time. (that does not count if they do something stupid again - like keep one of the detectors unplugged Smiley - but you cannot predict that)

Good luck and have a good trip.

Hopefully you aren't flying Aerof%*# and have to make a connection in Moscow. Last Friday they were running 4 hrs late from SFO and you can add another hour delay in Seattle.
