Who knows an advanced translation site?

Anyone who knows an advanced two-way Russian-English translation site?
Attention, I don't mean the "known ones": they only give ONE word per word, no alternatives (at least not in "one go"). But I've often seen profiles and mail from girls who obviously used a Russian-English translator that gives other possibilities between brackets.
That is very useful and practical. Who knows where it can be found? And does it also do English-Russian?

http://www.paralink.com is the best U will find online the new aim/ICQ 1 they have there now seems better than the promt 2000 I got running now!!! except for the magic gooddy

info I got regarding translation programs as rekon I got most of them?? stylus/promt/pars... heres the hard part if
U want run most these programs with sucess...they work best
in russian version windows or at least with parawin98/2000

Indeed it likley is translate.ru that those girls use, as it sometimes gives a word variant as well.
I did some test with translate.ru and rustran.com, they give very different results, I'll try both!

I highly recommend prompt (translate.ru) over Rustran any day.  Do simple phrases, compare both, from english to russian, then russian to english, to see how it might come out.  

I always open two browser windows, then copy/paste the results from english to russian... to the browser window that is set from russian to english.  Makes things a lot faster.

Rustran is a joke by comparison.  I've been using translate.ru for email for several months now.  Once you start using it, you become accustomed to the results, and will type input accordingly.

Good luck; and take Russian language courses (CD/Tape whatever you can deal with) simultaneously, and it'll really grow on you, and your rw will love you for it... not the attempt that is, but the end results.  After many weeks of dabbling in both, I'm actually remembering things.... The more, the merrier.

I tried Rustran because I was very curious how it works as I have never seen this site. The result can not be compared to the one from Prompt.
On the other hand, the Thesaurus option (word by word translation) available in Rustran can be handy, too.

you're right, i think trnalste.ru is really good actually, maybe better than rustran, but i thought the address was referring to another website...

Project MT has a better rule based translation engine than any other translator I've seen. They've been working on it for a long time.

For me the best free translator are:

rustran.com : for a software powered translation, this is quite accurate, and there's also the word per word variant.

t-mail.com: set up an email adress there and everything comes translated in your own language(possiblitly to translate without setting up an account.If russian is not listed among the languages, proceed as for another one(russian-english, you'll know what i mean) and it will work anyways...

and the best one, but not to use too often because it's real people doing this for free : www.freelang.com
