The consulate in Guangzhou routinly denies visas with the following explanation: "The consulate has determined that you do not have a BONA FIDE relationship with your petitioner." They do this without giving any further details of why they believe that no bona fide relationship exists. Like I said in a previous post, I do not mean to scare you by telling you about this however it is not uncommon.
Does anyone know if any progress has been made with this issue? I remember reading here that a State Department official was supposed to be looking into the reason for the unusually high number of Visa rejections in Guangzhou, following complaints from many American/Chinese couples.
