Letter Writing????

Have any of you had any success with letter writing that you could share?  Is it worth time and effort, and where did you find the best places to get the names and addresses???

I recently married a great lady from Peru, we met through letter writing. Before we met, I ordered some addresses from SOTB/Latin Match. Got several responses. Then I placed my own personal ad with SOTB. My ad appeared in about 20 agencies in various cities in LA. In the six months or so that the ad ran, I received around 50 responses, most from very attractive, well educated ladies. All seemed very sweet. I didn't have any of the bad experiences with writing that Ron says he had. Guess he was just unlucky.
  My wife and I actually met through a site called Kiss.com. It's not an agency, it's a personal ad site that has people from all over the world. Type in South America into their search, and you will find more ladies than you could ever meet.

Good tip on that kiss.com site.  Cheap rates, easy connect, and lots of ladies.  Appears to be a first-rate service.  Another viable avenue among all the others: tours, intro agencies, referrals, random meeting, photo/letter clubs, etc.  Thanks for that tip.

I messed with that two, ended up corresponding with a Peruvian lady; not a bad service...but, by the time she wrote me, it was to late...I had already fallen for Beatriz...:-)

Something interesting about kiss.com......the bio-info that the ladies write about themselves appears exactly as it was written-no translation or other "improvements". If they speak broken English, what you read from them is ....broken English. Kind of cute, but sometimes kind of sad, depending upon what they write about their situation.

I did the same thing Red Clay did, i placed an ad at singles site on web. I posted my singles ad on Americansingles.com instead going through an agency. I too found a Peruvian lady, they go to internet cafe's a lot in Peru. Then i communitcated by chatting on line with her on MSN, its faster than mail. I still send cards and couple letters and talk on phone some, but for most part i chat on line with her. Golden

When I firt started out, I did the letter thing with Latin Magic.   Never had one return.  It was as if none got there, or the post office guys in Colombia were opening them up to see if money was in them. Then I went to SOTB, and started writing, got responces, went down to meet some, but they were all lying right from the start about everything.  I wasted more money on females with this agency then any other.  But they do have the best prices on phone cards to Colombia.  Yeh !!!   Then I tried the personial add route, and everything I was looking for, and put down, .......it was the opposite that wrote back to me.  It was as if my BIO was written backwards.   I like long hair, but the girls with short hair wrote. I wanted thin and on the tall side, but the short and fat ones wrote.   I wanted someone that was never married before, but the divorced women wrote.  I didn`t want a woman with children, but the ones with children wrote.  Even when you think you found a good thing thru letters, be careful !!!!!!!!........everyone that I went to see started her lies thru letters !!!!   I`ve been burnt too many times thru their lies.   That`s what I`m trying to learn now !!!!.....how do you separate them, to find an Honest & sincere one.  They all write that they are honest, sincere, kind, caring, thoughful.....Blaa !, Blaa!,BLAAAAA......but that`s far from the truth. The one thing I learnt fast, and cost me dearly, is:........if one of these Latinas push you,or try to rush you,.... even in a nice way to come down .......stop writing to her !!!!!   Run as fast as you can away from that one. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE !!!!!!!! That was one of my "ROOKIE" mistakes !!!  Got court in that one a few times, before I learned that.  Lots of money wasted.  And even when you think you got it down,....they`ll still burn you !!!   Alot of these girls are good,....and you better not forget that.  Every guy is a "Chump" to a beautiful face. And these girls will use their beauty to get what "they" want.   There are good ones out there, but where ??.....let me know when you find them.  OH, another thing I learned was to have a PLAN "B" if you go visit one,..... don`t be afraid to tell her to get lost, either, if you find out she isn`t what she said she was.  Another "ROOKIE" mistake.  After cutting a few  trips short because of all their lies, I should have gone to an agency in that city and paid the fee to meet their women, instead of getting mad, and jumping on the next flight home.   For alittle more money, and I was already there, I could have been meeting other Latin women in that city, and who knows what could have happened.  I could have had some fun.  "ROOKIE" mistakes has cost me thousands of wasted dollars !!!!!     Hope this helps.

Ron,

You should clarify a few things so the guys will have a better understanding of what happened.

1.  How many ladies did you write to through Latin Magic?  If it's only a handfull, it's not a very good sample size to judge anything by.  When I was corresponding, I was sending out letters to 30-40 ladies per shot and getting 5 or 6 replies. If you only write to 4-5, chances are not good of getting any replies.  That goes double if you're writing to the really young sexy ones.  It also depends on how you write and what you have to offer.  I remember when I started.  I thought I'd be getting responses from every lady.  I was 34 years old, 5'11", 170lbs, in great shape, an engineer, knew decent Spanish, and only moderately ugly. I had been going out with some pretty attractive American women lately also.  I assumed everyone else was the 55 year-old bald type with a big beer belly.  I was wrong.

2.  How many ladies did you meet through the SOTB writing?  You mentioned "some" and that "they were all lying".

3.  Could you let us know what exactly each of them was lying about?

I traveled to meet 4 ladies (only one each time).  I found that one of them MAY have lied.  Her bio was off by ten years.  She said that TLC must have made a mistake entering her age.  It's possible.  I just wonder why your experience was so different than mine.  Perhaps some details can shed light on it.

Oops...too late!

Ron, you need to chill awhile, before you make ANY more trips ANYWHERE! The soil in your garden isn't ready for the seeds of love. Therefore, anything you plant, will yield nothing but weeds. It should be very clear to you you by now, that you've painted yourself in a corner here.
No one needs to justify your demands success or failure.
Life is like that you know...No total failures or successes. BTW...I got lucky my first time down. I also did my "check-up from the neck-up" BEFORE, I REPEAT, BEFORE, I went down. There were ways you could have graceously excused yourself from your incidents. But you chose to run & now rant here...

Pack,.......Thanks !!!......I want to learn all I can before I go down there next time.  I`m learning more from the people who tell you the "truth" about what happened to them, then the ones who just "brag" about it all.  It`s happened to them too,(that`s for sure).....they just don`t want to tell you.  "Image", I guess  I want to know why some say,... some agencies is good, when other`s say the same one rots.  Some are saying it`s "over priced",...when others are telling you,.."It`s a great price !"  If a guy comes on this board and says he was ripped off by an agency,.......I would like to know why, and which one !!!!      It`s a hard way to learn the ropes,......and it`s a very expence way ....too.   Maybe we can get Michel B. to pay for our next trips !!......he seems to think this is so easy, and we shouldn`t feel bad after spending 3K, or more on each failed trip.

Yep, people here tend to be kind of defensive. Also. even "bad" agencies have good women as members, just as "good" agencies have "bad" women.

The one agency owner, that has gotten the most bashing, for being overpriced, rude, and running an"escort agency", used to get defended from time to time by one gentleman on the LWL.

Now, I don't remember many positive things said about this "gentleman", but this one guy, used to sort of defend him. Wanna guess where that guy met his wife?

If some have bad luck at an agency, but other's met their wives there, it is only normal to see differing opinions.

Also, may times we give the agencies way too much credit and blame. Agencies introduce you to women, the rest is up to you! I would put more thought into what you are going to do, than what agencies will do for you.

I agree with you, Ralph.  THere are good, and bad....everywhere, and they come in every shape and size, and color.    This whole thing started by just asking where you could find and "Honest & Sincere" Latin Women.  I know there`s "Honest & Sincere" ones out there, but I just can`t find them. And away this whole thing went, into everything,.....where  even some guy  makes a statement that all Colombian men are liars, to defend the Colombian women,....I guess. Alot of this stuff isn`t my doing.  But we both know that can`t be true.  I would still like to know how to find that out.   Us guys wouldn`t be looking for Latinas, if we could have found an American women, right    We`re all sick of them, that`s why we`re seeking Latinas, because we read some agencies headlines that Latin women are what we are looking for. Yes !!!.....we are looking for what they say !!!   They say what every guy wants to hear about the way women should be !!!      Then why do they act like American Women, when you go down there to meet them You will be sick of them, too......when you get them home, after spending all that money,.....and they start acting like the American females, do.  But when they are already doing it, before you even get them home ??  YIKES !!!!   I just had a string of them in a row,....that`s all.   Maybe I got smart on this last trip I was going to take !!    I took my the money I had for the trip, and put it on a Harley !!  Best move I made for this summer !!!!!!!
