you have to give up your Ukranian citizenship, as Ukraine doesn't allow duality. Thus what would the backlash be? Tax problems? Property problems? Denial of medical care? Who knows?
My wife is from Chernivtsi and no one in her family is even considering it.

...another thought Stan.  Would this eventually require those who got the Romanian passport to get a visa to go back to their home in Ukraine after Romania joins the EU?

Aparently some have jumped at the offer though.  I wonder what they see as the benefit?
