I'm beginning my search for a latin lifemate. I'm looking for advice on how I should go about it. Am I better off write to several of the ladies to try to get a correspondence going or should I just travel to Colombia (or another country) and take my chances when I get there. I'm hoping to travel to either Cali or Cartegena early next year. Also, which agency would you recommend? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Oh i assume you are a fellow canadian?
I have been in the hunt for a few years and was finaly successful this spring. I found a wonderful girl who was working as a translator.( Big bonus she speaks English)
Most importantly try to learn some spanish.
I personaly feel you should go to one of the agencys in Colombia first to get your feet wet and then you can decide if you are doing the right thing. You will meet many beautiful women and become very confused, after your return home you will be able to sort this out and decide. What will work for you. Chances are you will have some good contacts to write too when you get back that you have already met face to face.
As far as agencys I spent 2 trips at Latin Love and also went and personaly met Norm Paulson.
I don't know how the new Latin Love is but I liked what Norm had to say when I talked to him It is hard to describe in words how you feel when the girls first start rolling in..
If you have any questions about the immigration process let me know as I am going through that know.
Good Luck

HappyIdiot's advice was good.  More important than your approach though is the effort you put into it.  Don't expect quick results (and don't try for them if you want to maximize your chances for a good marriage).  Remember also that the women are choosing as much (if not more) than the men are.  When you contact a lady, you are not assured that she will be interested in you.

Good luck!

First, I would suggest you take the time to read the story that Hoda had submitted under Trip reports.

Next, I'd recommend that you search through the archives and browse for other trip reports, and also threads on subjects that you are interested in.

Hopefully you will find someone with a similar way of thinking that has already posted their experiences.  There are several different approaches that people seem to have taken, all leading to success.
