Hi All,

Marife arrived here this morning. We are very happy and thankful to be reunited after 10 months and 20 days apart, but who's counting? ;o)) It is all a bit overwhelming for both of us. She is in good spirits, but very tired. Somehow, she  manages to keep going. I went downstairs to check on the boys and hope that she has now fallen asleep. The boys are very fond of her already. Dreams do come true! :oD

Wow.  The things your entire family must be thinking about; all that is in thought must be 100 times more than normal, and at mach speed.  I'll bet she'll be quite appreciated, and loved.  Your boys, will be quite impressed, and I'm sure, appropriately influenced.  The worldly experience with them will go a long way in their lives, and yours in the end.

Best wishes, and good luck!

Hi Brian,

Thanks! We don't know how we ever did without Marife, even though she is still fucntioning in jet leg mode. She has taught me many new Tagalog and Visayan words, as well as new usages and pronunciation for English words. ;o)) I have demonstrated my ability to swear in Tagalog, along with knowledge of various dirty words. She has taught me how to fold clothes properly, in a timely manner. So far I have only gotten to watch. ;o)) I have had lumpia every day since she has been here. :oD She finds some things a bit strange, like eating turkey ("a precious Filipino pet"). She is not very impressed with my ability to drive my car without my hands on the steering wheel, which is about the only time I can get a look of concern and a comment. After one of my burnouts, I asked her if my driving frightened her. She calmly replied, "I think you drive a bit slow." ;o0

It is obvious that the boys and I are in need of a positive role model. The boys and my young nephew now have an interest in world geography and different cultures now. My boys love her and are very happy that she keeps me in line. ;o))

Hi Midnightgirl,

I just hope that the other Dave is from the cold Twin Cities and not from Sodom and Gamora. ;o)) I live near the twin cities of Little Havana and Little Haiti. It gets pretty hot down here also.

Thanks for your kind wishes.

Dave H ooray she is finally here    and  Marife

Congratulations  to both  of  you!  Wow  I did not realize that  she  was  arriving  here  so  soon,  Boy are  you  in for  an interesting  ride these  next  few  months  for  sure.  I  have  a couple  of  questions  for  you  though.

1) how long  will it  be  before  you  show her  how  to use  your  George  Foreman  power  hot dog  smoker  and  other assorted culinary  devices  ha ha ha.

2) are  you  going  to  introduce / encourage  her to participate in  with  the  Planet Love gang  or  are  you going  to keep our group of  rougues  and  scallywags  a secret  so  you  can  sound off now  and  then  ha ha ha.

all the  best  to  both  of  you  and  the kids also  since  you  have a group activity going on here.

Hi WB,

Thanks! I didn't realize she would be here so quickly either, or else I would have started the clean-up campaign last year. ;o)) I will attemp to answer your questions.

1) I am starting with the major appliances first. ;o)) She used the electric stove today and has some doubts as to its abilities. I showed her the dish washer, but she realizes that a Filipina can get dishes much cleaner with her own two hands. Some clothes must still be washed by hand...to get them really clean. I am just trying to figure out where she will hang them to dry, since the dogs are in the back yard. ;o)) I figure that I will introduce the George Foreman power hot smoker and the rest of my bevy of assorted non-essential culinary devices during the next few weeks...just in time for Good Will to put on their shelves for Christmas.

2) Marife is already aware of P-L and attempted to post once from the Philippines. That's how she knows I'm NUTZ! %-) Unfortunately, she could not post from Butuan. I am not sure when she will be ready to post.

3) The question you were too polite to ask. ;o))) Yes! She knows all about my Purple G-string. I don't think she is quite ready for me to do my little dance yet. I've been working on my moves! ;oDDD

Dave,

It’s quite normal that she wants to wash her underwear by hand. The washer & dryer might eat them :-)

See if you can find one of those PI clothes hangers. The colorful round multi-tiered plastic ones with built-in clothes pins. She can hang it in the bathroom in the tub or shower. We got one in the Asian supermarket here and I’ve also seen them in the 99 cent stores. Also, get her a bottle of Woolite and a new plastic pail or small tub to wash them in.

Won’t it be nice to see women’s dainty things hanging in the bathroom again, instead of that raunchy G-string of yours? (ROFL!)

Stephen and I are waiting for those wedding pictures!
