TLC TRIP REPORT (PANAMA)

Hola, in Panama on Sunday killing a little time before the TLC pool party. This is my first TLC tour having traveled much of LA in the past on my own or with agencies such as LAI, ACG, etc. I wanted to give this a try especially since i never attended an agency party in the past - always did the personal tour thing. I have mixed feelings on the concept but would not rule out a return trip - but Panama is not the best choice based on the turnout. TLC is about double or triple the cost of other agency tours but gives you the opportunity to meet a lot of woman at 2 socials Friday and Sat, rather than the appt thing. The first party in deference to MBrando (oh the horror) was a disaster - you could count the 8-10's on one hand and the boys from TLC were sweating it and even offering us discounts on the next trip due to lots of griping. The second party got a late start and it was looking like the trip was going to be a complete bust but turned out better - bigger crowd ended up showing late with more attractive woman, and, as mentioned, today is the pool party. i met an attractive woman from Medillin last night and she is supposed to return to the party today and i got a couple other numbers but not sure if i will follow up on any - maybe 1 other. For me and my money's worth - i feel the conventional agency works better,  but the TLC concept might be better in other locales.

In my humble opinion, tours are always very expensive and I have heard no one I can remember tell me that they were worth the money.

Thanks for that report. We haven't had a lot of TLC trip reports lately. All reports are helpful, good or bad. I'm surprized the turnout was better on Saturday rather than Friday. Usually it is the other way around because the ladies know that Friday is better from their standpoint. On Friday they get the first pick of the gringos. Maybe you meant there were more ATTRACTIVE ladies on Saturday but the numbers were about the same (?)

Based on my experience with TLC in Panama, the same situation occurred.  Saturday night was much stronger both in terms of quality and quantity than Friday night.

TLC is ok if you are an extroverted party type and know how to work the crowd.  If not, you will be much better off with one-on-one agency meetings. Unfortunately, I don't think there are any agencies in Panama.

Hi Papi:

  Hope your trip gets better.  Boy, I know the feeling when things are not going well.  Tomorrow I start work again.  Time for the kids and all that stuff.  Me and Sonia are not doing too well.  Everytime I call her on her cell phone, we talk for two minutes and then we're cut off.  This happens all the time.  She never says much anyway.  I'm also sending her about $120.00 a month for English classes.  I think I may be getting ripped off?  Anyway, I plan to do a trip next June, but this time I'm staying for a month.  Take care Pap,

Dolphin, i highly recommend that you cut off the English school for now until you can get a better handle on your relationship with Sonia. Also, i recommend that you contact the agency in BAQ directly and workout a deal with them to attend their June party and use of their intro services in the event you need a backup plan. good luck

What english school you are sending her to that costs $120 a month. Berlitz???

Papi,
Your observation is right on the money - so to speak.  In other locales (Cali - for instance) you'll do better with the number of women responding.   BUT, Cali is 'over-fished', and the women for the most part, I believe, are jaded, greedy, and not the best caliber of women for serious relationships.  I was told this by a Calena on my first TLC tour to Cali.  TLC advertises locally for the upcoming tour, and attracts a large percentage of undesireables..  they would have you believe otherwise, of course.  Visiting an agency has the best potential.  Some on this board may disagree.  Sorry Panama was a bust - from your posting it looks that way.  I would never do the tour thing again, except in Bogota, where I believe, based on experience, the women are more serious, and likely to make a better transition to living abroad.  Good luck in the rest of your trip.

Yeah... pay to travel thousands of miles...and then pay about 350 dollars to be in a room with a bunch of unattractive women!!!!

I would be pissed off too!!!!!!!!!!
