I, personally, would like to know that this is an issue in the Spanish-speaking community and that the type of Spanish that is spoken on US television might not meet my (future) Colombian novia's approval. I'm sure that at least some others appreciate the information.
Of course, one needs to work on Spanish but it makes sense to understand these regional variations in the language.
So, shut up, read the article and educate your ignorant self.
Oh yeah, instead of attacking me, write the Washington Post and tell THEM that the article is meaningless.
I would also recommend that you not read anything that I post so you won't waste your time responding to me when you could be studying Spanish or taking out the trash or something.
