LTD/BB is reselling an office in Maracaibo. does anyone have any info on the current situation in Maracaibo? in reading the State Dept, it sounds more dicey than Colombia. What about Aeropostal airlines?

My guess would be the political unrest in Venizuela is not dangerous to gringos, but you might not want to be there when they have the recall ellection(I don't think it happened yet)You might be impacted by disorder caused by the losing side. And I don't think they have the level of crime and other problem that Colombia does.
But,any direct experience here would be real good, however seems about nobody goes there.
Girls from Venizuela seem about as attractive as Colombianas.
Leidy Noriega is a former miss Venizuela I think. She is on a Novella out of Bogota. She used to live in my apartment with Tino Asprilla. My Colombian friend said it was always making the news because Asprilla was always raising hell shooting guns off in the air and stuff like that. The TV would do a shot of the building when they went in to the news about it.The other residents got him kicked out,so I get to rent the place. Its a real quiet building.People come and go through the garage driving SUV's,BMW's,Mercedes.I never see them except rarely in the elevator. We had some new residents who threw three 3 all night parties there first 10 days there. They have not been heard from since,or any loud noise.

The vote is Sunday, August 15th. The civil war will begin shortly after the results are announced.  ;-)

Even if its not quite civil war it could get pretty ugly.
Regardless how they do it I think Venizuela will be much better off without a Castro clone.Send the folks who disagree to Cuba for a little reality lesson.
