I think what he was saying is my god,or my belief system says is its OK.
I don't think he was seriously reffering to Jesus.Because
passages could be recalled saying just the opposite.
But then maybe Jesus mellowed out a little since he got away from his old testiment upbringing and influences here on earth.
Sorry,I couldn't resist.I put no person who ever lived on a pedistal.Even if they had some very good things to say that might have been divenly inspired.They put on their robe like the rest of the folks.No pants in those days.Probably wasn't one leg at a time.All of us are influenced by the thought systems in which we were raised.
I think he was a man who understood things alot more shortly after death like the rest of us will.Even if he understood things way beyond your average person of the time before that.
Deify people if you want.I don't buy it.Actuallty its a sign of a cult when the leader gets deified and things start getting accepted without question.The church a cult?Bad term to use thinking of some other cults,but then there is the inquisition.
James  I appreciate your friendship,hope I don't threaten it by being a little free thinking and irreverent here.I don't mean to mock your beliefs,it just comes out the more I write.

He was being nice.Not bringing up the issues again.But I am glad he is not the Greg who will be living with me because I don't want to have to plan around people not being there at the same time.
