Brazil Trip - B. H. - A Part I Forgot

I want to comment on the hotel I stayed at. It was a good quality hotel, the service was fine, and the price was reasonable. However, they misled me about the bill and tried to inflate as well. My flight was in the afternoon and I was going to check out after the check out time of noon. Before noon, I asked the front desk staff if there would be a problem with checking out late, would there be a late fee. "No problem! No problem! No problem!". Well, come check out at 3:30 pm they charged me for another day and tried to add some frigo-bar items to my bill. I showed that I did not use any frigo-bar stuff and they took those things off. They insisted on the extra day claiming that they could not rent the room out now. I didn't continue arguing over the US$20 since it would make me miss my flight, but I vowed not to return to this hotel. The name of the hotel is Hotel Fenix. There are hotels of the same name in various cities in Brazil. If you have figured out the city I went to, do not stay at this hotel. Every other hotel I have stayed at has allowed me to check out late with no penalty or with paying a half day's rate, never a full day's rate. There are too many hotels in Brazil needing business for tourists to have to put up with dishonesty in the billing.
