"Come back tomorrow at 3pm and we'll give you the visa". Only problem was they didn't like the pictures she had made in Cali and she had to run across the street and pay too much for new ones, but they gve her time to do that and accepted the new ones. She said that her interviewer (a woman) was very matter of fact, not really hostile, more like Jack Webb interviewing a witness (not her analogy, mine, based on what she told me). Asked how we met, asked to see pictures, stuff like that, and then told her "Congradulations, you can go to the United States and marry your Michael, best wishes for the two of you." She must have presented the image of a woman in love and given the right answers though, because she said this same woman had refused a visa to the case right before her (but she wasn't sure what kind, might have been a tourist visa instead of a family based visa).

Now all that's left is the little matter of raising the cash to pay for the tickets to the US (she's bringing her son, so I have to buy two tickets)....oh yeah, and clean up this place a little (OK, a lot) before she sees it.

Thanks, everybody. Yes, she (and her son) got the visas, talked to them about 3:30pm. Talked to her about 9:00pm too, to make sure they got to the airport in time for their 10:00pm flight. They were at the Bogota airport but couldn't leave because of bad weather, not sure if the problem is in Bogota or Cali, they said the airline told them they will leave 'some time', when ever the weather clears.

Congratulations and best of luck. Must be a huge weight off your shoulders to get passed all of that.

Congrats!!! Glad everything went well. Hope you can have them with you soon.

I was able to get some tickets online for my fiancee for Monday to Miami and Tuesday to Tallahassee. A little drive for me but the combination of tickets was much cheaper that way. Actually, since the money was stolen for the tickets before, they will be comong sooner. This time the price for both tickets was $587 vs. $725. Otherwise, I'd have to wait at least another month before I had the money because the prices for future flights are more expensive (most flights would be $1200 to $1400 for two tickets).

Do a lot of searching for various combinations of flights to various cities and you may be able to find a deal. Try one way also.

Tim.

Congratulations on the successful interview in Bogota... That's always a "nail biter"...

I'd suggest a lot of cleaning of the house... And oh yeah, throw out ANYTHING that has the slightest ties to another woman... Latinas can smell this stuff out a mile away...
