I don't like the sound of it at all. It seems like you walked into an ambush. I hope you picked a genuine girl.

Plain and simple, I personally believe that the gentleman should not be pushed into meeting ladies by anyone. AND an agency manager/owner who talks bad about a male client or female member, but doesn't have any proof to support their claims or is lying, is a jerk.

Second, a 38 year old woman pushing her daughter off on you, and you're 38. Come on, you know what the deal is !!!!
That lady was pushing that girl onto you to get married, and bring her along with other family members to the US, or to supplement their household income in Cali. AND yes, some of these girls seem to have their heads screwed on right, but you better believe that allot of women practice their lines before they show up, and some of the younger girls get coaching from parents or other family members.

Third, don't jump and marry someone too quickly. Meeting a girl, getting engaged, then getting married all within the same year is crazy in my opinion.

I'm not trying to offend you or make you look like a fool. But, I am surpised and kind of tired of hearing crazy stories about what some gringos do when they meet ladies in the agencies. It seems like some people lose all common sense.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion.  I guess you think 2 years is enough time.  Or maybe we should wait 5 or 10 years.  Clearly I've done things too fast in the past.  This time I'm on course to marry someone about 7 months after I met them.  Crazy?  In your opinion.

I would say waiting more than a year to marry these girls is an excellent formula for never getting married.  These girls get left on the vine by enough foreigners that they get skeptical.  If you're not moving somewhat rapidly they're going to think you're just playing them.  And remember if you are interested in them they are probably attractive enough that Colombian men are chasing them, too, along with the foreign men that are coming into the agency every week.

Furthermore, who wants to wait more than a year to be with the person they love.  If they were here in the US and you could see them every week, it would be different.  We're talking about weeks and maybe months of separation, and that can be very destructive to a new relationship.  Life doesn't stop while we are apart.

But I would agree that to marry them within a few days or a few weeks is reckless behavior, in my opinion, and I have seen some post here saying that they have done so.

Hey Aaron,

Throw didn't marry the 38 year old's daughter, he just talked with her at the agency is all.  He never said he married his wife quickly either, I think it was after a year or more of knowing her.  Anyway, I know Throw from my time in Cali and he's a good guy who knows the ropes more than most.
