Ah, a subject near and dear to my heart and my stomach. I am just getting over my latest round of the stuff. The good news, I haven't had to keep my toliet company in about 2 hours. This is my 4th time getting it. It will whoop yer ass. You get Dengue Fever from mosquitoes, but not all mosquitoes only the daytime flying mosquitoes. If you need a biology lesson why this is so, I donīt have the answer, I looked it up myself.
"Would you like to more?" This is some stuff I found on the subject. Granted it is over 6 years old, but it is more indepth than what I have written below. http://www.biohaven.com/dengue.htm
http://www.armchair.com/info/spira7.html   The second one is very good.
The symptoms:
1. You get weak. I mean, your biceps feel like there is air inside instead of muscle. No kidding. A kitten came in and knocked me on my ass for a saucer of milk. Hey, at 5 weeks they get pretty big, you know?
2. Your body aches. With me, most of my pain was in my lower back, ribs and neck. In your weakned condition, the pain seems to be intensified. Seriously, it's a chore to roll over in bed or couch or wherever your body just wants to stop.
3. With both of the first two symptoms working against you, you will sleep alot. The first time I got it, I slept something like 20 hours straight.
4. Loss of appetite. Now those of you know me, know I can go to Leņos and take care of a Mixto Plate with no problem, then head over to El Corral for the finest Cherry or Chocolate milshake in town. Yes, a large. For the last 4 days, I have eaten 3 pieces of bread, 3/4 piece of chicken breast, and today I ate a hotdog. I ate that much because  I knew I needed to, not because I wanted to. I'm guessing, but  I bet I have lost about 10 or 12 pounds in those 4 days. Well, there is a bright side to all of this.
5. Headaches and dizziness. My head didn't hurt so much as being dizzy. I lost my balance a few times.
6. Ah yes, the RUNS. Now actually, I didn't get the runs seriously the first time, but this time, geez! (Not trying to gross anyone out, remember this is a disease we are talking about.) This time, it seemed like everytime I drank a glass of water, next stop, the bathroom. I was beginning to think my own body was conspiring against me. Friday Night, I had to get up from bed about 20 times. No kidding. Then I had to endure it all day Saturday and Saturday night. Today was basically the same thing. Me and my good friend the toliet. Well, I will call him Mr. Toliet now.
Like I said, I am telling you all this to gross you out or anything, this is serious. Dehydration is what will do you in. It all hits you all pretty fast, the accumulation of symptons can actually be pretty dangerous. I'm sure we all know the significance of the dangers of Dehydration.
If you come down and get this thing, whether you are a Vet or a Newbie, you might want to go see the Doc. Don't be a tough guy and wait it out. I say this for one big reason, and this a rare, Dengue fever is related to Dengue Hemoraggic Fever. Better to be on the safe side. If for whatever reason you don't get to a Dr. here's what I do. Keep in mind this is my own homemade remedy, I AM NOT A DOCTOR. Although, I play one on TV. This is just what I have found that works for me and it as never gone past 5 days, for me.
1. Obviously, keep the fluids going. Water and in addition something with electrolytes, like Gatorade.
2. Eat something, but eat what you can handle. Don't overload your digestive system. Try fruit, yogurt. Bread, works for me. Simple stuff.
3. While drinking water, pop Multi-vitamins. 1 at a time, every 6 hours. Also, once a day take a tablespoon of sugar. Keep your blood sugar level up. You'll need the energy.
4. Lay flat on your back. Just rest. You aren't going to rush this stuff. "Most cases of dengue are benign (not-serious), ending after approximately 7 days."  http://www.armchair.com/info/spira7.html
Not trying to scare anyone off, but again, just something you need to be aware of.
Ah, another hour without having to visit Mr. Toliet.............

Right here in Cali, Colombia.
One other thing on this. Once it starts leaving your body, burns off, or whatever it does, it leaves pretty rapidly. I feel better now than I did say, 3 hours ago.

sounds like an effective weight loss method.  10-12 pounds in 4 days guaranteed.  could you imagine the money you could make back in the US?Huh   you would put Subway out of business for sure.

unfortunately there is a form of dengue that can be fatal.  perhaps it would be better and safer to market Mexican Agua Viva (has real life living organisms inside!!!!!!)

amoebas  giardia  hook worms   a diversity of diarrhea

once spent 3 weeks in Mexico arriving at a pudgy 195 and leaving at a mean lean 175 thanks to my amoebas at Agua Viva
