My fiancee mentioned something about it being traditional for a woman to be serenaded by mariachis prior to her wedding.  Does anybody know anything about this?  Where exactly is this serenade suppose to take place, how many songs are sung and most importantly, how much dinero will this extravaganza cost?  I note that both CaliPro and calivet will be in town for the festivities in December.  What would you say if I were to offer to pay CaliPro U.S. minimum wage, calivet Colombian minimum wage, and as a trio we could do this ourselves?  In deference to calivet,  we could belt out some oldies.

I saw that South of the Border had a sernade option on their site. It was like 200 dollars though.
I thought, "Who in the world would order this...to each his own." Now, I guess I'll add it to my list of things to buy.

My wife's sister told me to surprise my wife by hiring a group of Mariachis.  They only cost 70,000 pecos (40$).  They came at 11 pm and stayed for about 25 minutes, they must have sung 6 songs and asked me and my wife to say a few words into the mike.  They even video taped it and gave it to us.  It would be a nice surprise for your fiancee.  They actually all came into the house to play and they had an amp and evrything, the whole nieghborhood must have heard them.

Call MARIACHI GARIBALDI 011 572 885-3783 OR page him at 666-1866.  They were fun to have.

Yes, that's true, but I don't know the going price. There was a Betty episode where it came up and it was either $100US or $150US for the whole band (5 or 6 guys) to split between them (but part of the joke was that at this price they charging too much).

Where? Most likely they will stand on the street under her bedroom window, that's where it is done in Mexico. On the show they did it twice, once in the hall outside her hotel room and once in the lobby of the Eco Moda building. Figure if they did it twice AND were over charging, then you ought to be able to get it for $50US.
