I was taking today to an Argentina lady regarding the economy there.  The US dollar is now worth 3.60 Pesos, whereas before it was a 1 to 1 ratio.  She told me a 4 star hotel is $50.00US/night and an apartment per month rents for $250.00.  She also mentioned airfare from the US was inexpensive.

Best of all, she assured me that although she was unaware of any marriage agencies, that the Latinas are friendly and open to gringos and easy to meet.   Any board members make a trek to Argentina recently since their economic problems?

I know that there is a strong European influence in Argentina and the looks and height of the women reflect this.  Any other differences between the Argentina mujeres and other SA countries?

About 30 minutes ago I had a discussion with a lady who originally came from Argentina. He last trip home was this last December.  I asked her if it would be safe for me to travel to there. She told me she was not sure that it will be safe for her to travel there in the near future.

Personally, I do not have a clue about it. Just what she said.

I believe the crime rate is increasing as the bottom has fallen out of their economy.

a couple of weeks ago I read a story where a cattle truck had an accident in a rural area of Argentina.  the townspeople went on a slaughtering rampage of the cattle for food.

Argentines enjoyed no visa tourist priviledges for about a decade to travel to the US.  the US State Department recently cancelled that policy after the collapse of their economy.

on the other hand it certainly cannot be worse than Colombia and would seem to provide a fresh opportunity for a single man.

Pablo, listen this is just my honest and genuine opinion. you stated that Argentina has a strong European influence represented in the height and looks of the women. This is very true........but I have met enough Argentine women to give you my impression of them. Honestly I believe many Argentine women do have a desirable height and some are very pretty but in my experiences many women exhibit a "masculine" look to them. I further will not argue that many Latin Americans (Mexican, Bolivian, Guatemalan, etc...) sub-consciously envy the Argentines blood extract but like I say many of these Argentine women look like carbon-copys of the East German and Russian athletes back in the 60's and 70's. Notice I use the example of "athletes" because I believe German and Russian women are attractive in general. Although this may be humurous example its exactly what I can think of to make my point. Also, although not as bad as the Argentine men, in general my opinion is the Argentine women seem to be stand-offish. Again I may have started a flame posting my opinios but if you have a "spark" for Argentine women I truely suggest Uruguayan women. You know what Pablo---Brazil also has strong European blood roots, but the difference my friend is that God blessed them with the mixtures of the African and Native blood.....and God what a difference...I will take a triguena Brazilera with a bubble-butt, nice personality, big smile any day over the whole Argentine women's rugby team.....Colman

Hi Colman,

Have you actually been to Argentina?  I have met one Argentine lady here in the States and she was a knock out.  She was anything but masculine.

What interests me about this part of South America is not only the beauty of the country along with their western neighbor, Chile, but also how few gringos actually end up traveling there.  If you have read any of DenverMike's posts and his living in Chile, the guy seems to be in Latina heaven.

Another aspect is that there are no marriage agencies that I am aware of in either country.  Although that might be a negative or a positive, depending on your view of agencies, the fact that few norteamericanos go to these southern most Latin countries, the chances of meeting some nice ladies are very good.  It doesn't take long to see that most of the men that post here on the P-L Latin side are pro Colombia and specifically, pro Cali.  I have nothing against that per se, because most of these guys have had good experiences there. I think it may be rewarding exploring different options and certainly much less competition in some other countries.

I just finished speaking with one kind lady in Buenos Aires in Messenger and she is placing an ad for me in one of the local newspapers.  It will be interesting to see what sort of response will occur as a result.  I was floored at her kindness to me and when I asked her about reimbursement for the expenses, she simply replied, "invite me to the wedding".

Having done a archive search on Argentina there are a few posts placed by Timbuktu and Bret that are encouraging. (Posted on 6/16/2001, keyword: Argentina)

Any other board members have first hand experience on Argentina and the women there?  I'd appreciate your thoughts.

the heaviest european influence other than Spanish in Argentina is Italy.  many Argentines have Italian surnames.  there is some German influence but I believe this was later and had alot to do with WWII.

Argentines are probably 95% white as well.  they were not "blessed" by having a large slave population or a large indian population to mix with.

I think Argentines are much closer to Spanish women or Italian women both of whom are very attractive.  I personally do not find Russian or German women to be particulary attractive despite the existance of Ana Kournikova
