No I wasn't shot down in Cali but rather my fiancee has asked me to change my name.  I told her about the board and made the mistake of telling her my name, ''El Diablo''. lol  Anyway, a day or two later, which means she must have been thinking about it, she asked very sweetly, please don't get mad but would you consider changing your name as it's kind of creepy.  To be honest, I kind of like the name but I understand her point so El Diablo will be retired as soon as I can figure out how I register with a new identity.

Rather than re-register, how about just telling me what you want you name changed to?

I guess I see her point.  "El Diablo" sounds sort of exotic to the gringo ear, but to her maybe it sounds like you're calling yourself the devil or Satan.

Since, as you say, she's asked you very sweetly, why not acquiesce this once? She might even see the gesture as very romantic.

I think Marco Etcheverry will be pleased too ;-)

JH,
If she's never been to bed with you how does she know your not El Diablo?  Sorry,I couldn't resist.
Even though its catchy I never thought it fit you at all.And Colombianas can take stuff like this too seriously.
I guess James M H was too ordinary for you?Sort of like me?
Think about it.Maybe something that means wise one or the observer? How about "Bored at Big Blue"? No,someone might look over your shoulder and no more telecommuting from Cali.
Or think of something relevant to your future role as husband and step father.
Rocio just read this over my shoulder. She doesn't like El Diablo either.Of course she thinks there really is an El Diablo and  its not good to involve him in your life in any way, shape or form.I told you Colombianas were too serious about this stuff. How did a new age thinker like me wind up with a fundamentalist? At least she is not preachy or judgemental. She thinks everyones relationship with god is between them and god and not for others to judge.

Pete

No suggestions from her.  It looks like I'll have to come up with a new name on my own....so far I'm having some difficulty.
