All these unsuccessful marriages sound discouraging. Maybe it depends on the kinda Guy or If Guy's Lucky to choose the right Calenas. Not surprised that it happened to Houndog.

I always liked the dawg and most of his posts started very relavent and on-track, but he was easily baited into flame wars. One of the points he was aways counter to many on the board, and I agreed with, is that being able to communicate 100% with your prospective wife isn't everything, so if your Spanish isn't perfect and her English leaves much to be desired, don't think this alone makes you two unsuitable for each other. Divining each other's true intentions, and convictions is sometimes hindered by meaningless conversation, not necessarily reinforced by it. Note, I'm not recommending you rush out and find someone who doesn't speak your language as the preferred potential mate, I'm just saying that don't let an inability to communicate right away destroy a potential great thing - these things can be worked through. HDs experience and my own are testiment to that.

Jeff,
My experience also with the language.Plus my wife is way ahead in english than her friends who's husbands speak spanish.Now if I could just get her off spanish TV she would pick it up even more.
Fortunately she spoke some english when I met her,way better than none.

Got membership on 2 gringos, don't visit that website anymore, only have time for Planet-Love. Read Latin board as Lurker since 1999, so I know about HD and Yourself. Yeah, I think Patrick did like reading HD's posts, just didn't like him fighting with Posters, tooooo much work for Patrick to clean up Garbage everyday. Glad you didn't give up on your Calena, becuz you had serious plms with her when she first arrived here. Now you got yourself a Gem..Sometimes Guys need to be Patient with their Women, takes time to adjust to culture differences, new Countries. Houndog got his own website, maybe you could pay him a visit, find out whats happening. greg

Thanks for the imformation.Can you give me HD's web site address?
Yeah Patrick put up with alot from HD and I think doesn't want to go through that again so is a little quicker to ban after the HD experience.
My wife is a real sweetheart and a great person.I'm glad I have her and hung in there with her even though things are still not up to my (perhaps perfectionist)expectations,but improving,and we are much closer than ever.I can't immagine being with anyone else.

As far as I know it was only by invite to be on there. I was on there but there were never very many posts and it all pertained to Colombia which is of no concern to me.
