You still used a middleman, just a different one.  The only way to truely bypass agencies is to meet the women on your own.  You can simply travel there to meet them, or for those who prefer correspondence first, place your own personal ad directly in the newspapers.

The key to doing either of these is to learn Spanish well enough to be able to operate in the language.  You then become independant and are able to meet women anywhere, not just where the agencies operate.  I think Ecuador would be a great place at the moment for someone who knows Spanish.  I know there's a significant percentage of ladies there interested in gringos and very few men going there.

depends on what you want and what you value. no one can tell you the best country to find a wife. all we can do is share our experiences both in LA countries  and those in corresondence.  you have to determine your desires in a wife, that is what you value the most.. This is the most important step in finding love anywhere.. Be honest with yourself in what you want.. if you want a traditional housewife, then so be it.. if you value a highly educated woman, so be it.. if you value physical beauty, then so be it.. but be honest with yourself and accept the good and  the bad associated with it..

If you want to get  some ideas about the women or where should you search.. try telling the board your likes etc... that way guys can tell you their experiences and you have some insight into the matter.

As for TLC.. I would rec. using the magazine, but I wouldn't rec. placing an ad with them.  I can't speak about the tours.. I don't know.
