Hey Pack the only thing in the south is the Pacifico Royal. I would suggest the west to you. I lived in the south and the taxi fares were eating me up. Try the west. In El Penon which is about five or six blocks from the Inter Continental there is the Dann which is great for about $50.00 or the Hotel Penon which goes for about $40.00 accross the rio is the Pension Stein for about $35.00. What is nice about the area is there are lots of clubs and restaurants. Across the rio is Dukes a great jazz club and several restaurants. You will be almost in walking distance from Ave sexta. The benefit for you is you will be more centralized. Believe me there is nothing to do in the South anymore. 4000 pesos should get you to chipi chapi from the west, if you want, a bus costs fifty cents. Hey if you like ribs there is a Tony Romas in the Dann.  jim c
