I guess it is common knowledge that the laws in Colombia are oftentimes fluid and subject to interpretation.  My concern is the requirements listed by my lawyer and the requirements listed by the Colombian Consulate in the USA seem to list different requirements for what is required to marry a Colombian National.  HAs any one experienced the same thing or should I lean toward what the consulate says?Huh  A little confused??

Luisa and I went by the colombian consulate rules, and the notario's-- essentially the same-- and had absolutely no problems. Never talked to a lawyer about it, and we had no delays/problems, hidden costs, etc. Our embassy is a stickler for detais, so that's where you need to dot all i's and cross all t's.

my experience only, can't speak for anyone else...
