The other day I noticed a couple of new profiles from Spain on LatinEuro (
www.latineuro.com/NN98.shtml) , so although I am not looking too seriously I ordered the addresses to see if the ladies lived anywhere near me and might like to meet for lunch or something.
N365, a Hondureņa, turned out to be living in the Canary Islands, and itīs probably more expensive to visit there than New York from here, so I didnīt bother writing. I mentioned it to Lourdes, and she didnīt charge me for the address.
N366 only had a yahoo.es (es=espaņa) email address and no street address. Her profile read: "Raquel 27, 5ī4" Sales. I am sweet, loving, soft and feminine. Please let me know if you are interested. E-Mail, Spain." I wrote her a quick note in Spanish, briefly describing myself, telling her I live in Valencia, and asking her what city she lives in. She wrote back saying: my name is Eugenia, 30 years old, professional musician, and although I lived for a year in Madrid, I now live in Montreal-- can you send me a photo? Her answer was strange; I didnīt ask anything about her because I assumed her profile was correct. I told her Iīd go get a photo taken that day and email it to her. I asked, "by the way, do I have your correct photo?", indicating the N366 profile (as soon as I hit "send", it occurred to me this wasnīt the best question to ask, in case it wasnīt her). She wrote back and simply said, "no, thatīs not my profile. Maybe you can contact the agency to verify." Hmm. She didnīt tell me which profile *is* hers, and I hadnīt given her any reason to dis me, unless that question about the photo was a bigger blunder than I thought.
I related all this to Lourdes, and she said sheīd try to get in touch with the lady and straighten it out. She said she had been confused by the .es address and had assumed the lady was from Spain. I asked her what might be behind the discrepancy in personal data, and she said she hadnīt had time to check and perhaps I could ask the lady myself. She didnīt charge me for this address either.
This morning I sent an email asking the lady if she has a profile. No answer yet. N366 now says she is from Canada, but the personal data remains unchanged.
Lourdes is very responsive overall, and was good about not charging me for either address. Iīm interested to hear any response from "Raquel" or "Eugenia". If it turns out to be an innocent mistake, Iīll be sure to mention that here, but I canīt help wondering what is going on.
