Im returning to Cali in February to marry my fiance and I thought I had all the documents I need but I just discovered a potential problem today.
They support form asks for past 3 yr tax returns with the W2s. I requested this from the IRS almost 2 months ago and they sent me a letter today saying they need more time and to expect to hear more by 45 days. Of course this will be to late. SO my question is. Can you file with just copies of your transcripts? I have 3 years of my tax return transcripts from the IRS but they are not the full blow W2s like some have said that you need. Does anyone know if just a copy of your transcripts from the IRS will do? Thanks.

Hello:

  can your former employers send you copies certified as true and correct of your past W-2's?  That's what I did and I got them in a week.

i take it that u sent 4 the 1040s through the mail. if u order them by phone it will take about 2 weeks.
