Hi,

When I was in Bogota yesterday I was about to buy a round trip ticket, originating in San Francisco, going to Bogota, from a local travel agent there. Unfortunately the agent wasn't immediately able to confirm the low fare (around $550 for a flight on short notice). She claims that, if she's able to confirm the low price, that I can contact the airline directly in the US, have the flight ticketed and pay via credit card directly to the airline.

Well, I called Continental and they said they couldn't ticket an agent's reservation, i.e. the agent making the reservation has to do the ticketing. They said that if I wanted to they could create and ticket a new reservation at whatever their current price was.

So, I'm wondering - has anyone ever made a reservation via a travel agent in Colombia and then paid the airline in the US?

Thanks,
Sol
