I don't see a lot about agencies in Bogota. I was just wondering if any ofthe guys who post on this board have been there and what do they think about the agencies, and the women there?  I have been looking at one on the net. Latin American Introductions  I'm curious to here any thoughts that anyone might have.

Thanks

Dave

Latin American Introductions and ODEE seem to be the two largest and best publicized places.  The URLs are:
 LAI--http://www.latinamericanintro.com/
 ODEE--http://www.odee.com/

You'd already know that if you were a member of the two Gringos forum (http://www.gringos.com), since their board is the best-organized one-stop shopping site for information about Colombia.  Of course, you can alway get some other sap to pay a 1-time fee of $25 (or whatever it is now) for lifetime access to the forum, and then re-post the information here for you.  But then you're still missing a lot of useful information... whatever.

About the women... the one's I've met in Bogota have been more professional and more conservative (in personality, not politics) than many of the stories I've heard from Cali.  Coincidentally, I also happened to have been looking for a woman who's more professional and more conservative than those in many of the reports on this board.  Funny how what find tends to depend on what you're looking for.  Cali has around 2 million people and Bogota has 8-10 million, depending on who's counting... I believe that you find all kinds in both places; both among the Latinas who live there and the Gringos who go there to meet them.

I met the woman who runs ODEE office in Bogota. I noticed right away how pushy she was about selling her services (taxis, tours ...) when my fiance and I came to visit her. My now wife had once been a member of ODEE. Maybe she does a good job of matching couples, that I don't know, but her personality rubbed me the wrong way and their fees are high.

When I looked in Bogota I wrote to a bunch of women and avoided the agency thing altogether but that was my way and may not be yours.

Dave,

I've spent time at Charlie's Place, which is a hotel owned and run by the father of the fellow, Nelson Grisales, who runs Latin American Introductions. I had already met my wife before going to Charlie's so I didn't use the services of LAI but I will say that my dealings with Charlie and Nelson around lodging and brokering the services of a notary were done with a lot of integrity. Plus, I've not heard complaints against LAI or Charlie's Place. And Charlie's Place is a comfortable and safe place to stay. And, I didn't experience any of the bullsh-t I've experienced in other dealings in Colombia.

As a footnote, knowing what I know now about the Colombian marriage process I'd consider finding a notary myself and not paying an agency $450 or more to broker the wedding process. That's what I paid for peace of mind. If your fiance is resourceful and if you're persistent in finding out what exactly the notary needs in order to marry you then you can dispense with the broker.

Also, I don't recall what the URL is for LAI. Latin Lifemates ripped off the URL laintro.com when LA Intro didn't renew it quickly enough. Latin Lifemates gets my vote for an agency to never use.

Agreed on all accounts....

Nelson, Charlie and family are very honorable and good people to deal with....

I met my wife there and also had our wedding reception there....

Agree totally with the Latin Life Mate opinion...

My first experience was with them and in comparison Nelson and Charlie were a breath of fresh air....

Visited Charlies place over Christmas with my wife and sister in law....
The parties were happening with lots of chicas....
I of course didn't look.... Smiley

If you want to look in Bogota...check out Nelson and Charlie....

I have looked at the website for Latin American Introductions a couple of times.  The women are beautiful.  I have never been to Bogota, but in Cali I did notice that there are not many women in their 30's in the agencies.  The few that were seemed to look much older than their age.  On the Bogota websites there are many beautiful women in this age range it seems.

No, I didnt sell.

It is pointing to a different site, but because of other reasons. I would've rather sell my soul to the devil! =)

Anyhow, I think we have a better domain name now, LatinIntro.com.
