Question for pack

pack, I am trying to decide between a Cali or Bogata trip this winter.
Bogata is known for older women in the age group I am interested in, mid 30's to early 40's.  I'm 48, can pass for 40.  My question, what is the availability of Calenas in this age group.  The web sites of Cali agencys dominate with 20's.  You have been to the agencys, seen the books, and attended the parties.  All the Bogata agencies have the $500 membership that I would like to avoid, Cali is my other choice.  I would appreciate your thoughts and experience.

hi A1A,everyone has their preference some guys swear by bogota others swear by cali. personally i like cali women better and i like the city of cali more than bogota. cali seems like a happier city and the people are friendlier. i think the calenas are much prettier. i enjoyed myself in bogota but there was no comparison to cali. now about the women in the age range you are looking for mid 30's to mid 40's, yes there are plenty of women in cali in that age range that would love to meet a good man. dont be side tracked by the agency hype they (the agencies)always put the young babes on the cover to draw the men but they also have many ladies in their books in the 30 to 45 age range.i saw alot of ladies in that age range at All Colombian Girls, Latin Internet and Latin Encounters those three come to mind.

 There are cheap flights available right now from ATL to Bogota, I believe I saw one for 326 RT. Look at the website clarkhoward.com, then click on travel deals.

I would guess that you might be able to negotiate a better deal with individual agencies as I'm sure they're all hurting for business. So, I'd not dismiss Bogota as a choice just because of their stated fees. Bogota might be a good choice just because it's not nearly as popular and as 'picked over' as Cali. Of course I'm biased because my fiance is from just outside of Bogota. I think that the main difference you'll find is that the Bogota women are older and more mature and serious about marrying. You'll probably run into lots more women in Bogota who have children, if that's a consideration. If you have the time and money you might consider visiting both cities by purchasing a triangle fare that stops in both cities. I vaguely recall that there's some airline (Avianca?) that makes it relatively cheap to hop around Colombia. Maybe someone else on the list can refresh my mind.

One other thing, you might consider letter writing first. Write to a bunch of women in Bogota who you like, see what response you get and then you can meet them without paying an agency fee. intlady.com is my favorite web-site for finding women to write to and they have a sister web-site, cupidspalace.com that lists only women from Bogota. (no, I don't make any money from refering them; I just have received lots of support throughout my search from the owner, Ray Reitzle) but others on the list can probably refer you to other sites with pictures and profiles of Bogota women.

Also, Ray is doing a "Private Party for Five" over Thanksgiving if you've got the time and some money. It'll cost you the same as these agencies you don't want to pay a sign-up fee for but there will be just five guys and 25 women for a couple of cozy meals plus other opportunities to meet more women. You get to personally invite five of these women. If I weren't already engaged I'd do this because I've never liked the idea of those tours where you meet five or six hundred women and Ray has devised a more intimate form of this.

Just some thoughts. Again, I derive no income from helping Ray out here.

I appreciate the advice given.  I am sure that airfares are going to remain low for a while. I'm only 3-1/2 hours from Atlanta and will use that route to Bogata.  I can't get vacation time approved that fast and these fares expire Dec. 10. I haven't written letters in the past, I was planning on just going.  I have some time so I think I'll try writing first, Cali and Bogata women and see where that takes me.  Push comes to shove, I like the "party of 5" idea also, the next one is in Feb.
