Alleged Colombian Drug Lord Extradited . . .

Hi guys,

It has been a few weeks since I last posted.  I was reading the local news paper when I came across this article... "Alleged Colombian Drug Lord Extradited to U.S.  Colombian drug kingpin Fabio Ochoa was delivered to the United States on Saturday to face charges that he belonged to a gang that smuggled in 30 tons of cocaine a month."

Ochoa, a former top leader of the notorious Medellin cartel, is
the highest-profile Colombian sent to face charges in the United
States since Colombia revived extraditions in 1997.

It goes on to say, The State Department warned Americans in Colombia to take extra security precautions, noting ``the past history of narcotics traffickers conducting bombings in public areas as a reprisal for or deterrent to extradition.''

Hey guys, be careful and take care of yourselves!!!  I am not posting this as a deterrent from going to Colombia... just as an extra note of precaution.  I have planned my trip for the month of December and have no plans on cancelling it.  This will be my first trip to Colombia.

There is a new warning out about possible retaliation against Americans in Colombia as a result of this extradition. His family is insisting that it's just vengence on the part of DEA because he wouldn't name names. In any case whenever anyone in Colombia asks me ?americano? I always say no, canadiense. I think it might be a little safer.

I think it is a good strategy on your part.  If the heat is still on when I make my trip, I may consider using the same strategy.  However, I am a little worried that your strategy would not work very well for me because I am African American.  So to check, I got on the phone and called up a canadian friend.  He said, there are a some black canadians.  But most are apparently from the french speaking parts of Canada.  Just call me Jacque or Pierre.  It would just be my luck when I am in Colombia someone approaches me a say, "Americano?"  I say "Canadiense", then he/she starts speaking french to me. :-O  We have a canadian perpetrator here.

I think that's a great idea.  I would however caution you that a gringo is a gringo to some of them.  They tend to view us more as a group than even we do sometimes.

My cousin who is Canadian tells me the black population in Canada is mostly of West Indian and Jamaican origin in which case maybe "ya mon" or "ayrie mon" would be good choices. By the way your profile mentions an interest in Madagascar women. I've seen many on the few African sites out there that really blow my mind. But it sure is far away. How far have you looked into that scene or have you already gone? I'd love to get some feedback on meeting women in that corner of the globe.
Somewhat off that subject but in light of some heated discussions going on elsewhere on the board I'd like to throw out that since I've started going to Colombia I've become a hardcore white (that's my skin color) racist. That's right. You've seen the "No Fat Girls" bumper stickers? Well I'm going to have one made up that says "No Thin-lipped White girls!". No kidding, I just flip right past any blond in the agency albums. (Jeez if there's a gringa watching this board I'm in for it now!) But seriously if you've had any experience with African/Madagascar women I'd sure like to hear about it. And good luck to you!

Cali vet, thanks for the info from your Canadian friend.  As far as Madagascar goes, I have never been there.  But it is one of several countries I am searching in.  As a matter of fact, I have mailed several letters to women in Madagascar these last few weeks.  I am now waiting for a reply.

As far as your comment on being a "hardcore white racist", I take it that you are not really a racist(white, black or any kind).  I think that is just your way of saying that, you are one who is attracted to women who's physical features are in stark contrast to your own... opposites attracts, the more different the more attractive.  I have no problem with that.  Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder... to each his own.  White women can be just as beautiful as madagasy and latin women.  I think woman can be attractive irrespective of their race... black, white, asian, latin, etc.  I once dated a german female years ago.  She was 5'4", 120lbs, blond, white, affectionate, and thin lipped, but she had the appeal and build of a latina.  She was very attractive.  I almost married her.  I did not because our core beliefs was not compatable and she was not as ethical as I hoped she would be.  But lighten-up on white females, even though you are into latinas(and latinas are very beautiful), you just might come across a white female that will bring you back the light side of the force Luke. ;-)

well that can be true ...however, colombia has got to be one of the leading counties for plastic surgery. half the girls i met down there had or wanted to have surgery on their butts ,boobs,face and everywhere else!!
