Cali seems to be divided into the North Side and the South Side, kind of like Chicago. Is one part of town more upscale? North Bogota is where the affluent people live, while it was suggested to stay out of the South. When you visit your girlfriends at home do they appear to be middle class? In Bogota I went to a party and offered to accompany a young lady to here house. It was about 3:00 AM and the streets of Bogota were loaded with funky characters. Her aunt was awake, waiting for her, and offered to let me sleep on the sofa rather than risk running the gauntlet back to my hotel. I sacked out and in the AM they gave me coffee and white toast. I went to Bogota expecting the worst, and ended up being invited to a party and truely experiencing the kindness of strangers.
