i started a new job recently and i dont have much of vacation time or sick leave accumulated. im thinking on leaving on a friday, getting married saturda and going to the embassy monday to apply for the visa. do i need to be on both interviews for the visa? how long is going to take from the time we apply to the time the visa is given to her? do i need to take a medical exam and vaccination also? can she arrange for her passport, her medical, her vaccination and her police certification ahead of time? any answers you guys have will be deeply appreciated. i found a diamond on my fiancee and i want to see it shine as soon as possible in my house

Dear Sir:

I was married july 1st in Cali, colombia, and went the embassy route in Bogota.  You need to present only for the first interview in the usa embassy and it was ten business days for the next appointment date.
Your fiance can get the police record early but she can only go to two usa trained doctors for the medical exam and they are both in Bogota.  You do not need a medical exam for yourself.  Bring your 3 years of tax returns, passport, marriage certificate, evidence of meeting her in colombia,  and about $400.00 for the visa and she will get it on the second visit which is usually ten business days after the first visit.

                                 I hope this helps.
