its a saturday morning Cali-vet ,Ken and myself are having a delicious breakfast at latin internet poolside . i tell them about the party at margereths and invite them to tonights party . cali vet had already been invited by margereth and ricardo both when he ran into them at the airport. even though i have been meeting girls right and left i was still thinking of L so i decided to call her. i havent seen her in over a year and the last time we spoke she basically said goodbye, so i was a little nervous. i asked Betty to call for me and translate, i asked to meet her for lunch but she had to work , we agreed to meet next day Sunday morning, she really didnt sound to excited to see.
i called over to Norms and asked to speak to Starman , he had told me he would be at Norms , Norm says there is no Starman here. o k .by now i'm not really interested in meeting anymore of the L I girls i just didnt see very many in their books that floated my boat so i told them no more appts please.cali vet and ken had some plans so i tok a cab to the north side to kill some time , while there i decided to visit Latin Best. Luz place was quiet no gringos ataying there she gave me the tour and gave me 3 books to look through, who do i see ..its L hmmm so she hasnt been sitting around waiting for me thats for sure. Luz trys to get me to buy a memebership , nope not interested . o k how about $200 for your remaining 9 days here? nope. o k how about $150 , nope. o k how about $100. nope i'm waiting for $50. never heard it so i say my goodbyes and im off to chipi chapa mall.
walked around awhile and stopped at a coffee shop for a cappuccino i hear some great spanish rock music being played. the girl working there writes down the name for me.later i buy the c d . by the way if you like some really good rock/pop spanish the group is Vilma Palma E Vampiros , the c d is 15Exitos de Oro. i catch a cab back to L I , hook up with Cali-vet and we are off to Latin Encounters for fiesta #2.
the party is good just like the night before there seems to be less gringos but just as many girls. cali-vet is busy talking to two chicas and im wondering around mingling with several attractive ladies. cali-vet tells me he's ready to split so we walk outside to flag a cab but out of nowhere comes about 5 girls up to us and a conversation begins ( cali-vets spanish is excellent) next thing i know cali vet is picking up a phone number. we head back to south side LI , where we all once again sit poolside talking till the late hours. tomarrow i meet with L , im feeling a little uneasy not sure what to expect from her or from myself. mananna
