That is good if you have been to Cali before and know where to go. Maybe a suggestion from the translator or agency staff would be better in picking a modest restaurant.

Oh and bye the way the desired response from your sweetheart when you ask her where she would like to eat is the response I get from mine which is "anywhere you would like my sweetheart" and it never seems to change.

Yes I'm refering to first or second dates. I guy can get advance info on restaurants by looking under that heading on laciudad.com caliescali.com and elpais-cali.com among others. The first few times I went down girls would always drag me over to Arrieros del Sur untill I learned to recognize the name and said no. Lousy food at high prices. Since then three delicious but modestly priced places have opened up within a ten minute walk from Latin-Internet in Ciudad Jardin. In the av. sexta area in the north the choices are boundless.

I don't know what their name is but they must have one. All I've ever seen is "Arepas con Todo". Yeh it's my favorite of the three.

I think it's been open a good six months or more. I can't really describe where it is except to say that it's deep in the belly of the shoping mall beast.

... in response to What's the name of the three restaurants..., posted by cdrab on Aug 19, 2001

The closest to LI just puts a sign out after 5PM that says "Arepas con Todo". It faces the big new Brazillain restaurant accross the street. It's between the spagetti place and Mimos, same side of street as LI. The next is just past the corner strip mall that holds the the Mex rest. and grocery store, still same side as LI. Don't remember name. Walk 20 meters further without crossing the street and there's the third. It is owned by the husband of the woman who operates the Peruvian rest. (Good ceviche Peruvian style, w/o the Colombian style shrimp coctail sauce). That place is next to Diego's, up the street from Crepes and Waffles. The first three all serve delicious baby beef.

Hi guys just wanted to jump in for a second.

If I meet a lady and things are going great between us, I will take her to the mall and buy her a small gift. I see nothing wrong with that at all.  Usually a cd , a dress or a blouse bring a nice smile to her face, and are relatively inexpensive.  I do see something wrong if the lady asks me for a gift, however.

Pack, the thought crossed my mind that the story of the broken bed was a little hint directed at your wallet.. you know what I mean?

Choosing a restaurant is a different story.  If a girl I don't know at all, or just barely, tries to lead me to a $100 dollar dinner the red flags are flying high.

Doug.
