In my experience the greatest problem with the age difference is if the young lady still wants to go out to dance and party and the older man doesn't.  That's my situation.  I'm 44 and my wife is now 23.  During the day she goes to school, work, shopping, etc., but in the evening I want her to be with me.  That's caused us quite a few disagreements.

Not every young Colombian woman is such a party animal, but mine sure is.  Keep that in mind when you are chosing a younger woman.

I have no idea how the asian ladies view this, although I presume age differences are much more accepted than in the US.We are kind of an oddity in the western world in this department.
You really have to go to Colombia to get rid of our old thinking here.Age diffences are not only accepted in their culture if they can get an American they will stretch it alot more.If you are under 50 and look youngish you can have 18-21 if you want.I don't recommend this, but some of the 21 year olds can be very mature.
In my case I was 56 when I met my wife, who was 33 at the time. Its not a big deal.Alot of guys want the very young girls so if you will take 30 something with kids you could be in your 60's,depending upon the girl,if you were  youngish 60's.I know a Colombian Woman who married a Colombian man 46 years older than her.
Many people don't want to stretch it this far,so I would say if you are 40's,25-30 year olds would be a good choice.
Alot of guys post here that have never been there or just went and met only their lady they met on the internet.Forget your old American attitudes about age,its a whole different world down there. It seems the more a guy goes down the more he lowers the age of women he is looking at.Two of my veteran gringos were over the other night talking to a new guy who is going down. They said how old are you,he said 33,they looked at each other and said ya,that could work, the sister of one guys novia ,who is 16.(and reputed to have the best butt on the planet)Crazy as it may sound he could have her if he wanted.I think he is a little wiser than that though.
You need to remember that most ladies in Colombia get married 16-21.After that they start to be considered over the hill.
More important than the age difference is the character of the girl. There are a few sharks and alot of nice sincere girls.

For what it's worth, I'm 32 and my fiance is 23.  But, she is mature for 23, as she has had to work since getting out of high school.  From my experiences, 22 would be about as low as I would go...

Later,
Mike

It would depend on the individual. I'm 32; however, I have a lady friend in Cali who is 18. Our relationship is a platonic one; however, you never know where it may lead to. From my experience, I noticed that younger ladies (18-22) tend to be more appreciative and more willing to know me better than someone in their 30's. I've been criticized for my preference for younger ladies (18-28), but it doesn't matter. I've met ladies in Latin America who are in their late teens and early 20's who have more sense than females I met here who are in their 30's and 40's, who have NO sense at all.  Age doesn't necessarily equal maturity.

Mike,
I hear about these mature 21 year olds but haven't actually met one yet.I think as you move up towards 25 your chances of getting a girl who won't do a 180 on you improves alot. And of course life experience is important.
The other issue, your girl will almost for sure go through a depression when she comes here, missing her family and friends. If she is really tied to MaMa this will be more severe.

if YOUR girlfriend is from Colombia then Colombia has the best looking women.

in fact, if she is from the coast, the coast has the prettiest women in the country.

remember Colombia is the "best" country because that's where they went. (never mind if they have never traveled anywhere else)

surely you've learned that on planet love by now.  don't go to Mexico or Argentina because they are the "lowest" and "worst" respectively (on who's scale they are the lowest, and what exactly they are the worst at we can't say)
