Hello,

Just received notification today on form I 797 from the INS stating that my petition has been approved and forwarded to the consulate in Bogota.  It is valid from 5/30/01 to 9/30/01.

I can't remember what happens now.  Does the consulate in Bogota notify her?  Do they send her something via mail and tell her what to do?  The way this form reads it's like it's a done deal and all she has to do is apply for the visa.  Which I know is not true.

Need some help guys.

Thanks,

Bob

Your girl will recieve her package from the Embassy soon. In the package will be the entire list of Docs & requirements she will need to put together. After she has "everything"  together she can show up at the Embassy to begin her interview proccess and recieve the date & time for her Dr's appointment.

Hang in there you're almost home :-)..

Thought I had to send her a bunch of documentation, i.e, tax information, employment verification and such.  I guss I must have sent in more than enough information when I applied.

You will need to send her plenty of additional paperwork (docs), in fact I sent two full sets, in case something got lost she would have back-ups in hand.

With her "package" she will recieve a list of all Docs and requirments she needs in hand to take to the Embassy. The Avodavid of Support(filled out & signed)Income Tax Docs, Bank Statements, Proof of Meeting in Person and supporting evidence, etc. Along with her local police report, passport, BC, etc.

You should have recieved the same list already, if not go to the INS website...her list of requirments are in Espanol.

But once she has all items on her checklist in hand, she can go to the Embassy for her first appointment...at which time she turns in her papers and recieves her Dr's appointment.

Any more questions just ask...I tried to post the long version twice but it would'nt post so I gave you the short version. Anyway...get your complete, entire package of docs ready and send them to her. I sent mine FedX and they got to her in 3 days.

Good Luck...but it's not a hard proccess, except they feel scared and overwhelmed..but she'll get through it ok.
