Hi Party People. I usually post on the Latin Board. Not that it really matters, because the bottom line is that I am looking for a foreign woman. Anyway, I have been communicating with a very nice Filipina (attractive, 27 years old, and no kids). We've been in contact (through telephone calls and e-mail) for the past two weeks. And the communication has been very good (SHE'S ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!). Personally, I have good feelings about this woman, and would really like to meet her in person before this year is over. However, there is one major concern I have about her: She lives in Hong Kong. She's mentioned to me that the SARS outbreak in Hong Kong is pretty bad. Personally speaking, I wish she would leave Hong Kong and return to the Philippines (FOR HER HEALTH). What should I do? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and take care, PARTY PEOPLE.

Hi Keith,

Welcome to the Asian Board! I don't think I would be inclined to travel to Hong Kong until this SARS gets under control. I have to agree with what Ray said. Maybe you can meet in the Philippines. Good Luck!

She is probably in Hong Kong because she can make 10 times what she can in the Philippines. My guess is that most of those Filipinas in Hong Kong are scared to death of catching SARS but will not consider giving up their job there. They are usually supporting most of their family back home on their salary.

They usually get a paid vacation every year for a couple of weeks to return home, so why don't you try to make your trip coincide with her vacation so you could meet her and her in the Philippines.

Hopefully, this SARS thing will die down soon, but it doesn't look too good for the short term.

Hi Ray,
C.N.N. reports that two in the P.I. have recently
died from from SARS. My understanding in the region
of Tarlac in Luzon. In which a lady from Canada
     contracted the virus.

Hi Ray and Dave. Thanks for answering. Once again, I really appreciate it. I spoke with her earlier this week. She had told me that she will be returning to the Philippines (for vacation) in early May. Then she'll return to Hong Kong. You are absolutely correct about one thing: she's working in Hong Kong (as a domestic helper), and she is working under contract over there. Nevertheless, I'm still concerned about her. From what's been said in the media, SARS IS NO JOKE. NOTE: in spite of this, I will keep in contact with her because she makes me laugh. I LOVE A WOMAN WITH A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR. Thanks again.

Keith,

I agree with Dave. A woman who can keep you laughing is worth her weight in gold!

Hi Keith,

Hard to go wrong with a woman with a good sense of humor who makes laugh! Sounds like some other good qualities are there too! ;o))) Good Luck!
