I liked the way that the American in this story bailed out and left his wife (ROFLMAO!)

Crazy taxi
By Marvin Sy
The Philippine Star 03/05/2003

A taxi driver, who attempted to rob an American and his wife in Makati City yesterday, came up empty but left several cars damaged in a wild and crazy heist.

PO2 Ricky Mel Corpuz of the theft and robbery division of the Makati police said the complainants were Allen Khosrovani and his wife Hermina Marcial, billeted at a condominium in Barangay West Rembo.

According to the couple, the incident took place at around 9:30 a.m. along Sgt. F. Yabut Circle, Guadalupe Nuevo. The couple boarded a white taxi with plate number PWP-298 and asked the driver to take them to Quezon City.

When the driver asked for a P500 fare for the trip, the couple refused and demanded that the meter be activated as required by law.

Angered by the response, the taxi driver locked the doors of the vehicle and continued to demand the P500 fare.

Marcial called up a friend – a police officer – using her mobile phone and reported their situation.

The driver got even more furious and sped off while repeatedly demanding cash from the couple.

Khosrovani managed to unlock the doors then jumped out of the vehicle. The driver stopped the cab and went out to force Khosrovani back inside. However, the American managed to escape from the driver, who also tried to grab his clutch bag.

The driver quickly ran back to his vehicle and sped off with the American’s wife still in the back seat. However, the taxi’s door was still open and hit several vehicles on the street.

The drivers of the damaged vehicles followed the taxi all the way to Balagtas corner Mactan streets where persistent taxi driver finally stopped his vehicle. As his passenger tried to get out of the taxi, the driver tried to grab her bag. However, Marcial was able to break free and escape from the frustrated driver.

The driver got back inside his vehicle and sped off. He is still at large. Investigators are now verifying the operator of the taxi to determine the identity of the crazy driver.

Did you get the part where he left his wife in the cab?
A couple of Jiu Jitsu lessons would have made short time with the taxi driver.  The police would be investigating a broken arm LOL.

Hi Peter,

He should have left only to drag that friggin' taxi driver back to his car. Then stuffed his ass in the trunk and taken a few laps around town, hitting the biggest bumps and potholes! LOL

Dave,

What the hell is a "clutch bag"? Is that what you carry your clutches in? Or is that something for girls and sissy-boys?

This guy doesn't sound like an American. Must be some whimp-ass European?

CUMFL!

"Must be some whimp-ass European?"

I'll be sure to let the next american I meet "appreciate" just how much one european liked your comment.

After all, one generalization deserves another, wouldn't you agree?

Danes have a lot to be proud of...if folks are familiar with history- in WWII their behavior under Nazi occupation
was rather heroic compared say to the French. Denmark should be one of the most admired countries in Europe.

... in response to Very True!, posted by Dave H on Mar 6, 2003

Last week on a morning radio show in Detroit the announcers called a pizza owner on an Island in Denmark. I don't remember the island name but apparantly the Danish owner had a sign with a picture of a Frenchman and flag with a circle and red stripe through the middle. He was not serving any French citizens or Germans also. It was so hilarious because his English was broken and they asked him what he told the customers. He said if the customer was French or German he would tell them to leave and he would not cook pizza for them since they don't support America after what we did for Europe.

They asked him why he thought they wouldn't support us and he said he thinks the Germans like Saddam since he reminds them of Hitler. The French he basically said they were E$$holes. He said as of now the French were under lifetime ban unless they started to act like a nato country or follow the UN laws and treaties. He figured the French never would. I guess it has cost him a lot because about %30 of his customers are German.

Easy there, I was just being a wise-ass. The name "Khosrovani" sounded European (or maybe Persian?). Anyway, I've never seen a American in the Philippines carrying a 'clutch bag', but I have seen a few European guys with them :-)

I don't have anything against Europeans, except maybe the current French and German government dildos. Like Dave H, I have European blood also, 50-50 French & German.

Peace,

Ray

"Easy there, I was just being a wise-ass."

Yeah, I figured as much, but it's damn frustrating to go around supporting the war on Iraq in Denmark, and then come here and see yourself being labeled a wimp-ass. ;-)

Besides, I don't think the opposition to war has much to do with cowardize. Danish commando troops where active on the ground in Afghanistan alongside american troops - and that was VERY popular.

The US have loyal allies in Europe. Actually the majority of EU members are in support of the US stance on Iraq. Only France, Belgium and Germany have voiced any major opposition.

The French opposition is mainly based on their own national interests and Belgium usually does what France does..

Germany on the other hand are just very sceptical about war in general - but they have supported the US with troops at other times. Most recently in Afghanistan.. Had the talk of war not come at the same time as the general election in Germany, things would have probably been much different.

Had the opposition won, Germany would have been one of your strongest backers.

I apologize for the wimp-ass remark.

We here in the U.S. do appreciate all of our true friends in Europe and thank you for all of your support on this war on terrorism.

I think your analysis is right on with respect to France, Germany and Belgium. The French are always a pain in the butt and I think they are jealous of Blair and Bush because they have the balls to stand up and do what needs to be done, regardless of public opinion. If France wants to be a world leader, they have to stop this incessant back stabbing, for starters.

Hey Ray,

Don't tell cc, but I have zee German blood too. Shocked)))

I looked up "clutch bag" on the Internet. Those are those little rectangular leather bags, that have a wrist strap. They were very popular in the US during the 80's Miami Vice era...when you were out at sea. ROFLMAOTNTPIMMFP! We used to call them "Fag Bags." I've got one around hear somewhere. I will send it to you! ;o))) Maybe you can sell it on your next European vacation. ;o)))
