My In-Laws just got approved for their visitor's visa interview. They were told it would be ready for pick-up at the ELF office within just a couple of days.

Sure enough, it is waiting for them to pick up. They had asked about having it mailed from Moscow to where they actually live, but the ELF office said that it was too dangerous to send it via mail. So they have elected to pick it up in person just before leaving Moscow. The ELF office said that was the best option.

Now that is what we have experienced. I don't know why everybody says that the fiance visa is taking several months to receive after the interview approval.

That's good to hear.  Sounds like I was wrong to say that she should take her trip to the Black Sea to say good bye to her relatives first and then go back to Moscow to get the visa.  She should just wait there for it, if it is really only going to be a few days.  So far, she hasn't replied and told me anything except that she passed and they told her it would be a few days.  I was skeptical of the few days and thought why wait around for the visa and then go on her farewell trip when she could go on her trip first and then come back to get the visa.  Her father is taking her to see relatives on his side of the family including her 70 year old granny who wants to say good bye to her for what could be the last time they ever see each other.  I don't know how much she has seen these folks in the past since she lives very far from them in Bishkek.  She needs to go back there and pack too, so it looks like it will be two or three weeks.  Unlike the guy who posted below and guessed that I must be grinning from ear to ear, I feel a lot more like that guy who posted and said, "Oh crap she'll be here in 3 days!"  In addition to the fiance stuff, I am in the process of buying a new house and with everything happening all at once the stress is getting up there.  And the new house won't close until Nov 5, my current place is a mess, and my vehichle needs a good vacuum and wash.  Just for starters.  I just hope she is happy when she gets here.

Hi Mark,
Actually I have heard every rumor, theory, or whatever else you can call the info...

The procedures are changing as we go...

When we had our interview on July 31, it was "call back in a few days"...then a week, and etc etc..

The Embassy, DOS, Lawyers, or whomever you talk to about this, either does not know, tells me a rumor I have already heard, or just says there is a new admin process going on.

Now I hear that when they send "packet 3" out, it says to bring a DHL envelope to the interview, so the visa can be mailed out.

that is about all I know

can you let us know your timeframe and where your "service" center was? Also please let us know when she has the visa in hand? My girl won't let me even mention timeframes anymore to her, but i still want to know. Congrats. Smiley
