I hope it all goes well for you!!  When my wife went to Poland from ODessa to meet me, she took the train to avoid all the hassles of the guys at the airport who might want a bribe to let her go.  But it was cool when she traveled and the train didn't have heat.  She ended up sick.  So if you take the train, prepare for that possibility.  When I visited Odessa 2 years ago, it was cool at the end of September, though I don't know what the weather is now.
