That leaves more for me to choose from. I really don't need a translator anymore. My Russian language skills are good enough now that I can choose from the rest of the women.

I actually agree with you on this one. My Russian isn't great but I've spent weeks in Russia without speaking any English. I know I can get by. My current girlfriend speaks almost no English. I use a translation program for letters but I usually understand most of her letters without translation. Just don't ask me to write in Russian. My vocabulary's good but my grammar is terrible.

1000 Russian Lessons is not worth one plane ticket to Russia.

As for me... I'm happy with my English speaking (and better every day) woman...

I've got more reasons than meeting women to learn Russian. That was the start but it's going beyond that now. I agree with you too. On my first trip to Russia I didn't speak enough Russian to even feed myself. That didn't stop me from going. In my opinion the most important thing is to actually get over there. Letters are useful but they don't mean anything compared to time together.

I understand why some guys can't/won't try to learn Russian. But in my opinion it helps a lot when getting to know the girls even if they can speak English. You don't need to be fluent but even a few words/phrases is an advantage. I do realize that any person coming here will have to learn English. It's just not high on my initial requirements list. As long as they are willing to learn eventually. I'm happy with my non-english speaking friends.

It's much cheaper to hire a Russian or Ukrainian to perform the translations. My translation skills from English to Russian are not that great. I'm learning Russian and how to think and understand in Russian language. Even as far along as I am, there are still subtleties to the meanings of phrases which I don't yet fully understand. There are examples in the different meanings of some British English and American English phrases.

It's just like most of the guys say.......  Don't fall in love with someone on the internet, picture and mere written words 4 thousand miles apart.

Don't forget about "Human contact"....

Remember, there are some really nice girls out their that haven't even signed up for marriage at a agency.
What's to say, you meet one...
