OK own up whoever you are...

I was corresponding ith Svetlana (Absolute Agency A2324939) through a local translation agency in Lugansk called OASIS (anyone heard of them?) for the last 3 months, and we agreed to meet (I bought my visa and everything). Then I sent one more message about my imminent arrival, suggesting we arrange exactly where/when to meet in Lugansk before I actually depart. And it all went quiet. And stayed quiet, for 2 weeks; until she answered my frantic messages by painfully and sorrowfully telling me she had found someone else.

I know it looks like a classic, but she really did seem genuine, right down to photos from different stages of her life. Maybe the problem was with Oasis, who knows? They wouldn't be the first agency to invent some or all of the messages they send on behalf of "ladies." But if Svetlana (25 year old schoolteacher from Novosvetlovka near Lugansk) rings any bells out there, please let me know; for some reason I feel the need to know if I was scammed or just unlucky this time. No hard feelings, I'd just like to know for sure that's all.

If you have an e-mail address, I will write to her and let you know what happens.

I had someone do that for me once and exposed a woman for what she was before I got too envolved. She seemed real also. It worked excellent.

I know you are through with her but,  if you are interested in knowing the truth, I will be glad to help. I owe someone in repayment for the guy that helped me out.

Hi Search

Actually if your offer is still good, I would be kind of curious to know. The email address for contacting her is officeoasis@ukr.net (this is the address of "Oasis Women's Club" who posted her profile on their site, and also they posted it on the site of Absolute Marriage Agency).  Her profile has been deleted from the Absolute website, probably as a result of my email to them; but guess what... I have found Oasis' own website and her profile is still there!!! Just to recap, her name is Svetlana, she is 25, and she comes from Novosvetloka.

PS: I wonder if the management of Oasis (and similar sites) browse this forum from time to time??!!

Thanks, I agree it's a good idea. Actually I'm following Oscar's idea of contacting her again myself to est the water with an alias from a different email address, but if that fails I will take you up on your kind offer.

Same person here just different computer and logon name.

I do not know about that. They might be able to tell that it is coming from the same locality and could get wise. If it is from someone else not near you geographically, less chance I would guess. However, I may be wrong about all of that as I am not that computer savey relative ISP's and tracking etc

Actually, you probably already know your answer...

If you sent money (including paying bucks for traslation services and email service for the lady) and then as you get ready to go over, she tells you "She found someone else"...

Then, yes, you were scammed.

Most likely, anyway.

If you never sent her money and she suddenly has a change of heart, then she is probably genuine, and trying to save you some trouble.

The good news is that either way, you know Sveta is the wrong person for you.

You need to have the "Edison Attitude."

Legend has it that it took Edison over 1000 tries to come up with the filament that worked in the light bulb.

When a reporter asked him how he kept going after her had failed 1000 times, he was indignant:

"I did NOT fail 1000 times," he said. "I simply learned 1000 ways that it wouldn't work!"

Well... you just learned one way it wouldn't work... There are still 1000 out there to try...

What is not such common knowledge is that Edison stole technology and credit  from Tesla with several technologies. I do not have the list handy.

Lets see going through one more thousand FSU ladies to find the correct one - I hope he is young and well endowed in the financial catagory LOL

I have used absolute agency with mixed results.  Most of my emails get answered, and some don't.  I have even met about ten different girls from absolute agency in person.  You should be able to tell which responses are sincere and which are not.  Most of the sincere responses came directly from the girl, but I have met at least two girls through absolute agency who were using a local agency.  Those girls did not ask for any money though.  One of the girls was from Yoshkar-Ola and she came to meet me in Moscow by train.  And the other girl was from Odessa and I offered her some money for translations and internet use only after meeting her in Odessa.  The thing about using absolute agency is...never, never, NEVER send money to any girls you have not yet met, and always, no matter how good she looks, stay away from any girl on absolute agency who is from Lugansk!  Lugansk seems to be a city full of scammers, and they all seem to use absolute agency.  You will usually see requests for money right away from Lugansk girls, and besides...Lugansk is so remote that it doesn't seem worth the trip, especially not to meet a potential scammer who doesn't even really exist.

Have you had any further experience from Lugansk?

I found a lovely lady in Lugansk and DR. married one from Lugansk. The lady that I met - her and I just did not work out.

No doubt, Lugansk has a reputation.

I absolutely do not agree that Lugansk is some terrible place to visit and meet women.  I had a wonderful time and had the pleasure of staying with a family and was treated well.  The girl that I was interested in as it related to me we had no chemistry.  We still stayed friends she traveled to Kiev with me to see me off.  These people are great however they are very poor.  I myself have moved on in my search to a RW to Togliatti Moscow.  This woman I am working has money and a job.  She travels to the sea on vacation and her family lives well.  My tastes have changed and I prefer a woman that understands what it is to earn money and women in Lugansk, in my opinion, for the most part have little clue about earning money.  They simply know that they don’t have much of it.  To say Lugansk has all the scammer is a popular saying it has been for as long as I have been involved.  Just be smart is all you can really do.  Do not send money, look at the signs and do not ignore them.  Take in the culture and have a good time.  Get away from the agency and write the woman on her own there are many Internet cafés that these women in Lugansk can write from.  If they don’t have the money to write then move on and find one that does because the fact of the matter is if these woman want to write that will find a way, as they are the most resourceful of all FSU.  Lugansk is only an overnight train ride from Kiev and it is well worth the trip.  You spend little to no money and the best way to go is find a woman that writes you away from an agency and have her meet you and help you with everything.  If your going to meet more than one in Luganks then just go and do it you will spend just a little more money but not much.  (There are two prices for everything one for American one for Ukrainians).

Lugansk has a LOT of beautiful women. The problem is that most men cannot get thru to them due to the many scam agencies. If you can deal with an honest agency in Lugansk, and I believe there are two today (Lugan-Girls and Ukraine Ladies)than you can do quite well. And either of these agencies will deliver letters for you to ladies from other sites. Sometimes you get a real ladies address but more times than not it is really the address to a scam agency.

It is important to know that although I guesstimate some 20% of the women are working hand and hand with the scam agencies, there are a great many very sincere ladies who are with these scam agencies and have no idea to the amount of scamming going on. It is the large number of scam agencies in Lugansk that has hurt the city and over the years, they have effected to the degree of maybe some 20% of the women, which is a very high percentage, but that still leaves a lot of sincere women in Lugansk if you could just get to them and corresponde with them away from the scam agencies.
