Last Monday I shipped a package to Novokuznetsk, Siberia.  I sent it global express mail.  Anyway it arrived in 8 days (folowing Monday).  Novokuznetsk is in east central Russia about a 4 1/2 hour flight from Moscow.  Prior to this I have never had anything arrive in less then 3 weeks.

A friend of mine works for Fed Ex and he told me that on certain international deliveries the USPS has started to contract part of the shipping through Fed Ex and this explains the improved delivery time.
