So I feel Dnepro is great.. The girls are just the same as far as pretty or whatever as any other city, but I just found the ladies there GENERALLY to be much less spoiled than the women I GENERALLY met in Kiev or Odessa. The ladies never missed a meeting, were almost never late for a meeting and they were very interested and polite.. None of them just sat down and ordeered a full meal unless I took the lead, which was NOT my experience in Kiev or I was soon to find out, in Odessa!
Anyway, Galina (Jack's contact in Dnepro) met me at the train and took me to my flat. It was nice. It was right on the Neper River and had a lovely view. $44 per night. Galina was great and she has a big heart. She really seems to care that a guy find a special lady if he can..
Well, she had run a personal ad for me in the newspapers there but the problem was that as I had made the decision rather late to go to Dnepro so we just didn't get the ad out soon enough. Not Jack's fault. It had ran just about a week before I got there. So the problem was that although Galina had about 30-40 phone calls about my ad, only about 8 ladies had time to get to her office with photos. Some wanted to make photos for me but just didn't have time! Galina says that there were women calling her at 1am and 2am before I got there! All she could do was try to screen them over the phone (screening for things like age, etc.. I would not meet with a woman under 28, I am 46) aside from the 8 or so that made it in to see her. I think it would have worked great if I we had been able to run the ad a good 3-4 weeks in advance of my coming, but again, I decided to go there rather late in the game.
So Galina said she set up some very short meetings just for a quick coffee with some of these ladies she had screened over the phone there were no photos of. She set it up to just meet some of these girls about every 45 minutes! Actually it was great! I have been through the process before and I hate meeting a girl just every 3 or 4 hours! I loved just meeting them for a quick coffee to just see if either of us had a spark.. There were some nice girls but nobody really stood out.. I have become pretty adept at getting to the important issues to know if there are going to be any major incompatibilities. I also started meeting the ladies I had corresponded with as well. Again, some were nice, but I only wanted to really see a couple of these girls for a second meeting. One I had corresponded with was really quite nice and we hit it off well, but our lifestyles were pretty different. She liked to drink, not wine but Martinis and Vodka stingers with every meal, and I don't drink at all, so I decided to let it go..
The first afternoon, I was waiting at a restaurant with Galina for a lady that had responded to my ad. I had seen just a simple snap shot she had given to Galina which was nothing special. Well, she showed up and she was VERY cute! Much more attractive than her photo.
(ADVICE)- When you see the beautiful GLAMOUR shots a lot of the big sites have, know that this is the BEST this girl will EVER LOOK! Most of the women from the big gorgeous glamour shots were not nearly as attractive in reality! But the ladies who send simple snapshots from home, can be much MORE attactive than their photos!
Anyway, this girls name is Alyona. I can remember standing behind her to take her coat and mouthing to my interpreter Galina, who was standing in front of her, "WOW!" LOL! Anyway, we were supposed to meet for about 45 minutes but we ended up talking for about 2.5 hours straight. There was definite chemistry for both of us, we kept catching each other staring! It was great. This is a girl who has never been in an agency, never responded to a guys ad before. She had been divorced for 2 years and has a 6 year old boy. As I learned later, she had seen my ad and said she just liked my eyes and what I had to say in it, it touched her and she just told Galina my interpreter that she felt "this is my man".. Well also later, I found out that when she had gone to my interpreters office (Galina), that Galina had told her that she would show me her photo when I got into town but that she could not guarantee I would want to meet with her or not. She told her that if I did not choose to meet with her, that perhaps she might be interested in meeting some other men that might be coming there soon or join the Firstdream website. Well, Alyona said no, she was not interested in meeting other men or being in an agency, she just wanted to meet me! Well, that's gotta make you feel pretty good, you know! ;-)
Anyway, over that planned 4 days I had in Dnepro, I narrowed it down fast and spent most of my time with this Alyona and another lady, going to restaurants, going dancing etc.. Man, I love to go dancing with these women! I am a good dancer, but it is so cool to be able to say to them, "I would just like to sit and watch you dance for a while, would you do that for me?" and they LOVE to do it! It's like your own private show and they just really enjoy you watching them! Most of the guys there don't really dance and just watch the women dance anyway, and the women are ALL good dancers..
The day before I was to leave for Odessa, Alyona invited me to her parents for an early dinner (as my train left at 7pm). It was fun, very nice people. Her parents were there, her aunt and her sister-in-law. Alyona speaks just a little English but enough for us to be able to pretty much understand each other, but we took the interpreter with us to her families place. They have a house. It was fun, and the food was amazing! Man, they can really throw a spread! Alyona was pretty nervous because she really wanted things to go well, and they did..
Then I had to go to the train station where my train was leaving at about 7:30pm. She insisted on coming to the train station to see me off with my interpreter.. I got on the train as it was pulling out and there she was, blowing me kisses from the platform.. Kinda made me want to jump off and stay!
(ADVICE!)- DO NOT ALTER YOUR PLANS! I think it is important to follow through and meet the women you have agreed to meet! If this is the right girl for you, she will be there when you get back! If you don't follow through, you might always wonder if you should have!
So, I got settled in for the 12 hour ride to Odessa.. Will I go back to Dnepropetrovsk for this girl?? Stay tuned! ;-)
