I have an old friend who met his Moldovan Fiancee while in Kosovo. He has already visited her home ("spooky," was how he described it) and is trying to get the process started for a K-1. I realize the process on this end will be the same, but are there any resources out there regarging the Moldovan end? Also, he will probably want a few email addresses of Moldovans living in the US who might smooth her first few months in the states.

Any help appreciated - you can leave it here or email me at kwilliams00@charter.net

Thanks guys

No resources, just a request.  There are a few of us out here who could use info on Moldova as well.  I would be interested in any information anyone else has as well.

Spooky, eh.  Well I do know the country is virtually living on the brink of civil war everyday.  I was talking to a girl from Moldova today, and I told her I knew a little bit about her country, she asked what it was.  So I told her a few tidbits.  She seemed to get a little quieter when I mentioned the whole Eastern faction thing.  Not sure why she reacted that way (exactly), but it was a HEAVY subject - that's for sure...  Didn't think I outta pursue it at just that moment...  If your friend has any interest in doing a trip report of some kind, I know I'd be interested.

Take 'er easy

The "spookiness" in his case started with a 6-hour detention and strip search at the airport. He is a policeman and employee of the UN arriving on a military flight from Belgrade - I guess they wanted to make a point.

Other than that he found his stay quite enjoyable, but akin to stepping back in time 50 years...
